You guys are over reacting, it doesn't look that bad. The only way it'll suck is if it's PG-13. Also I hate it when a video says HQ but it's in 360p
It will be PG-13.
The trailer is the Terminator theme, but the guy who did the OST for Robocop also did Starship Troopers, as did the director of the movie. It shows and they're badass I don't know what this CGI bullshit is but it's going to be worse than Robocop 2 or 3 ever were. EDI looks somewhat similar but even its got Super Future Edgy Edges! God damnit Also, Robocop isn't a masterpiece, it's a classic. One of those 80's movies that just says 80's. Cheesy, and it knows it, but in a good way. This new one is CGI and taking itself seriously by the looks of it. You can't have something like Robocop and be serious, it just won't work. That's why Dredd was terrible
you take that back
you take that back
The new Dredd. I like the original, even if it had Rob Schneider, but that's what made 80's movies great, there was always that one comedy relief character. Even though it's a 90's movie, it just perfectly captured that 80's look and feel. The new Dredd was just meh, I thought. Cool Slow motion sequences, but a lot of those 'Made for 3D' type gimmicky shots really ruin movies for me

This movie is also terrible, everything looks like plastic. RIP Robocop, you're getting fucked more then with your sequels.
They just had to insert generic hollywood romance/father-son bonding fuckshit into the remake. HAD TO.
looks like an awesome reboot that sticks true to the originals spirit [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] the whole "over-designed by committee" schitck with this sleek new robocop is totally in line with robocop. only instead of the monolithic corporation run by the old man upstairs being the ones behind robocop, its a modern public friendly company. its great. its contemporary. [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] what if microsoft designed robocop. thats kinda what id imagine it to be like.
this movie sounded so promising before when they were announcing the cast and everything
a lot of parts look like it could be mass effect lol especially his new body
The one thing that bugs me the most... they left him with a human arm!
The one thing that bugs me the most... they left him with a human arm!
it is to symbolize that he is a real human being [sp]and a real hero[/sp]
When Robocop goes to where the Murphys used to live, it's a tragic scene because you know that he'll never connect with them again - they think he's dead, and they're not too far off from the truth.
That's possibly my favorite part. Fantastic acting from Peter Weller too.
ED was in stop motion in the original films because that was the best way they could do it, short of building a giant prop and somehow motorizing it. If you go back and watch it, it hasn't aged well at all and looks ridiculously jerky and unreal. Doing ED in stop-motion in the new film would just make the film worse.
But stop motion just looks so real. CGI can never match it. *farts really really loud*
With all the fucking reboots these days coming out i'm not sure what the fuck to even watch now. I mean, in the eighties when the psycho reboot came out, that was shit, a few years ago a new nightmare on elm movie came out, no robert england and complete total shit. Godzilla's making a reboot. Thanks. And now robocop? Robocop doesn't deserve another movie, the first ones are the best the rest are garbage. I didn't even fucking bother watching this trailer I already know it's fucking shit.
my biggest worry is how much it reminds me of the total recall remake aka as generic as it could possibly be, with a washed out feel and bassy dubstep sounds all around
But stop motion just looks so real. CGI can never match it. *farts really really loud*
Practical effects, yes. Stop motion, no. ED looks awkward, jerky, and weightless when it moves. Jurassic Park used CG combined with animatronics to create the dinos, rather than stop-motion. Which do you think looks better? This makes me really wish there was a really good mgs movie. But I guess the games are already like movies.
You know, with all these reboots I seriously think there may be hope for a new starship troopers film that (please for the fucking love of christ) wont suck ass like #2 (#3 is debatable, but still bad in general). I enjoyed the original Robocop, so I'll give this a chance too.
If its like Dredd 3D, then this should be a decent reboot.
But it wont be. Its rated PG-13

Why leave his right arm? Why go for that ugly black suit when the updated old school version doesn't look bad at all. PG-13? This is not what I was hoping for. I only saw the first movie so seeing this trailer was disappointing. PG-13?
Joel Kinnaman as robocop
a lot of the raptor shots in the kitchen are actually blokes in suits
Here's a vid if anyone's interested. I believe it had its own thread before. Eh, have it again.
hah i think i made that thread but i wouldn't be surprised if i was the 10th person to make it
Oh man they even butchered his voice. I felt physically sick when he said "dead or alive you're coming with me."
The recreated suit looked good for a moment then black and red
The recreated suit looked good for a moment then black and red
The first grey design was a nice recreation, it was a more slim high tech version of the 80's blocky suit, looked pretty close, while being modern and fresh Then hollywood went full retard and made it tacticool and black, typical
