There was something really relaxing about this video.

His voice gives me goosebumps.
I live in America though and I think that's kind of extreme.
But then I'm mostly just shocked he has that many guns, not that he's hiding them.
That's not that many guns at all. He's not crazy or a terrorist, he just devised a better way to store his guns which he obviously collects. There's nothing wrong with that and I for one love this idea. It was so beautifully constructed and executed. I don't see why you guys are making a big deal out of it.
theyre all deadly, and hes got no shortage of choice!!
Some people collect consoles, some people collect cars, some people collect stamps. This guy collects guns.
Guns fucking everywhere; America
This video seriously disturbs me, why would you want to hide your firearms like that unless you use them for crime?
YEAH, AN HONEST MAN WOULD KEEP HIS RIFLES ON THE COFEE TABLE.
It seems people are missing the point here; this video is a demonstration of a product he is selling. If you watch it through to the end he says what variations of that shelf are available for order from him.
He appears he makes storage units for valuable items.
you can only use 1 at a time though
2 at a time to be a badass
Honestly I think keeping them in the bookshelf like that is safer than, say, a Gun Cabinet. One of the things I was always taught growing up (in a gun free home, still am) that you should never display your firearms because they can then be used against you by an intruder. Something like this still gives you the accessibility (mostly, it doesn't seem hard to open up some of them to grab a shotgun or a handgun) while still keeping them out of sight from people.
I admit, that's a fucking excessive amount of weaponry, but he's probably just an enthusiast, so I can't hold it against him. He has the money to support a hobby? Good on em. He has the money to also make a bitching bookshelf/secret storage compartment monster FOR his hobby? Double good on em.
Then someone decides to steal the entire shelf only to find all the valuables inside.
Then someone decides to steal the entire shelf only to find all the valuables inside.
Yeah, we get shelf robbers here all the time.
Just lost my 5 metre-wide bookshelf yesterday.
When the zombies arrives this guy is set
When the zombies arrives this guy is set
Hold on for a second zombies, let me just put my magnetic book here, then open this locker and twist this screw and then open this locker and take the key and open this lock and then get the gun
Now, where did I put my magazines...
I hope the items on the shelves were for display. It seems a little suspicious to have a giant bookshelf with each shelf only holding a pot or something. I'd put as much shit as possible on there.
reminds me
I love when non-Americans come into threads like these and assume someone like this must be insane or a criminal. It looks to me like he's just an enthusiast who hid his guns in a smarter place than let's say a gun safe. If someone breaks in while he's not at home there's little to no chance they'll find his guns and steal them. It's not so much as to have a heavily hidden arsenal because he's a domestic terrorist, but because stolen guns become a huge problem. If they were sealed in a gun safe then still, any robber with time and the proper tools can bust them open.
Needless to say, I think people need to understand the American gun culture a little more before they just throw around the word nutters.
American gun culture or not, i don't see how judging a guy based on first looks/gun ownership is any different from your average bigotry.
because he has a truckload of deadly weapons? and he's hiding them?
Hiding guns is weird, as opposed to what? Displaying them in the living room?
Hiding guns is weird, as opposed to what? Displaying them in the living room?
rusty doesn't believe in gun ownership at all
The police could raid his house for stuff, and they would never find what they are looking for.

Im sure if his gun safe is that secure, his house is like Fort Knox. Im sure he'd have time to get his stuff together.
So that someone doesn't steal them??
Late reply, but that's what you have a gun cabinet for.
This thread clearly does not know about hickok45
Sit on his couch and 5 guns pop out.
well i'm jealous

would you rather have them out everywhere on every wall
guns aren't a decoration

These things. See that lock? Yeah, that's what gonna keep people from taking it without making you seem EXTREMLY suspicious.
as opposed to??
Putting them in a safe or not even having them?
The problem with safes is that they scream, "Hey! I've got valuables and or guns in here!" Safes aren't 100% impenetrable. Anybody with the right tools can bust into one; it's just to deter criminals from taking the risk. I actually have a friend who's house was robbed once. They had a huge gunsafe in their basement that was empty, it was given as a gift to my friend's dad for working with his company for 25 years. One day they came home to their place ransacked and the safe was missing; there were various metal shavings around where it was but the safe itself was gone.
The benefit of hiding guns in places like this is that if someone does rob you there's little to no chance they would ever find your valuables. Of course, there's the fact that this isn't the best fireproof method, but it still does keep them hidden and out of sight.

There's really nothing suspicious about hiding your guns that way. It's not illegal in any way as long as each gun is properly registered. It'd be no different than sticking a handgun in a handgun lockbox and hiding it up in a closet or under your bed.

I wonder what their faces were like when they spent hours busting it open and it's just empty.
you can only use 1 at a time though
You can collect as many as you can afford
Late reply, but that's what you have a gun cabinet for.
are you saying that your problem with this guy isn't that he owns guns, it's that he keeps them well-hidden as opposed to putting them in an easily identifiable, easily stolen, and easily cracked cabinet?
that would be like taking a backup key in case you get locked out of your house, and tying it underneath a big flashing neon sign next to your front door, as opposed to a fake rock with a hollow bottom
