China wouldn't win in a war against the US, they do have a considerably larger [i]army[/i] but their Navy and Air Force aren't near as large or as effective, also China does not have military bases around the world, and we would be able to have them on a semi 2 front war. This argument can also be directed towards North Korea as well.

I don't think a war between major countries is even possible any more. Are they just going to say to each other "No nukes, okay? Promise!". China would lose because USA would more than likely just throw a few thousand nukes at them. Chances are what with China's population, no matter where in China they set of a nuke, they would kill someone.
Then obviously there's always the chance that China fires back. And then other people are going to get roped in to nuke China back. And then China will bring in Russia. It'd be the apocalypse, with probably only small countries surviving because they don't pose a threat.
I just don't think a war between major countries is possible. As far as I know the only reason US/UK is at war with Iraq (instead of just nuking them, which would be appropriate if they actually did have WMDs) is because they don't have any nukes, so they can play it "fair".
