I really wanted to see Max's new ride.

TWO fucking cadillacs with TWO fucking engines with TWO fucking dually monster truck tires.
If this movie isn't rated R (American rating system) but instead PG-13 I'll be pissed.
Fucking. Metal
This is what I like. I am excited.
I feel that most people should start the series by watching Mad Max 2, because that's where the heart of it is. Mad Max 1 feels like something you would watch as a prequel to the real thing, not its first episode.
To be quite honest, I've only seen Mad Max 1, but it has its own atmosphere. It's like the last whimpers of the "normal" world, held together by duct tape and Max's "police squad", and then it all just unravels to give way to the insanity that came after.
I forget, how does water run out on a planet with the surface made out of 70% water with huge ice caps?
Nuclear war contaminates the water.
It's strange that I'm getting a Waterworld vibe, but there is no water. :v: It's like the opposite of Waterworld, but there's still pirates? Desert pirates? Looks amazing.
You have it wrong. You should get a Mad Max 2 vibe from Waterworld. Waterworld is 100% a rip off of Mad Max 2 except it's on the water. I'm not kidding, IT'S THE SAME GODDAMN THING! HOLY FUCK KEVIN COSTNER

Though I gotta say, the locations in Mad Max 1 were still quite livable compared to the sequels... But then again, Max did venture out into the Wasteland.
Looks exactly as ridiculous as it should be.
lets see you drink salt water without dying
or build large enough desalination plants in a post oil world.
Desalitifying salt water is fairly easy to do, it can be done with heat or minor electrolysis.
Desalitifying salt water is fairly easy to do, it can be done with heat or minor electrolysis.
explain to me how you're going to do that on a large scale without oil?
This is the most inspired trailer I've seen in a long time.
It's almost like cinema isn't dead.

Are we believing basic nuclear and solar do not exist? Fuck even fire can purify salt water.
OH WAIT THE FIRST MAD MAX TAKES PLACE IN THE LATE 1970's
this series throws me off because it is like "nuclear or any grasp of geology exist? OGGA BOOGA I CAVE MAN!"
Like seriously a society who can understand the thermal-dynamics of a car engine, can not understand that salt is heavier than water?

like it is not hard
What did they make it really american? The Mad Max films were Australian.
Ok two things here, it's a film.
Secondly watch them and you will realize that any effort to create large scale power/desalination plants of any kind would either be destroyed, or overrun by insane Raiders. I mean hell in Thunderdome the city is fucking nuts, people are nuts. I think it was their version of nuclear mutation. Not 5 limbs, but fried minds.

have you seen mad max 3

uh
you don't really know what these films are about, do you? 1970's, yes, real world, no.

also, do you not see how important oil is in the logistical element of that operation, or do you just think it's irrelevant
so is this a reboot or a sequel? also glad they seem to be keeping the aussie accents
either way looks rad
Sequel to Thunderdome. The movie was supposed to be made a while back but they couldn't find the time and Mel Gibson went absolutely bonkers so they gave up on it until now.

once again
there was nuclear war, australia wasn't directly hit (at least not on a large scale) but the oceans have become irradiated along with much of the water supply
explain to me how you're going to do that on a large scale without oil?
You boil the water through any means and then cool down the vapor. It's actually very easy.
There's lots of fire in the trailer, so boiling things shouldn't be a problem.

I mean, this is obviously movie physics we're talking. It's not supposed to make sense.
Just want to throw out there that water is extremely efficient at dissipating radioactivity, so the ocean would by far be the toughest target for something like that :v:
Not so sure about Hardy though.
He looks so soft compared to Gibson.
have you seen mad max 3
Yeah at the end Bruce Spence flies some kids back to Sydney.
I think the movies taking place in the deserts is simply courtesy of, well... Australia mostly being a horrible desert.
What did they make it really american? The Mad Max films were Australian.
They were going to film in Australia but then it rained in their filming location and the place no longer looked like a desert, so they said fuck it and moved to America.
that looks pretty good
color me surprised i guess
wasnt expecting

Whoa man, just... just calm down dude. I didn't know! I've never seen any Mad Max movies. Waterworld sucks anyways. GOD DAMMIT KEVIN COSTNER!
Shame it's not filmed in Australia
Why do I get the feeling that I just ruined 3/5 of the cool shit in the movie by watching the trailer?

Water itself cannot be radioactive, however it will contain radioactive particles which can be separated with a charcoal filter or by distilling water which also (shockingly) separates salt.

They didn't move it to America, they moved it to the Namib Desert in Africa.
