it'd be pretty hardcore if luke just went full on kreia and fucking complained the whole movie
i really hope there won't be any sign of a redemption arc for kylo ren
I think killing Han pretty much established him irredemable, either way there may just be a twist we won't see coming. On the flip side, I don't see Luke turning to the dark side either as that would undermine the original story
Here's the poster, just got posted on the SW twitter:
That is one giant laser sword. Nerf pls.
i really hope there won't be any sign of a redemption arc for kylo ren
I think what will happen is that [sp]there will be a third faction/stance made by him that would be considered neutral via the knights of ren. He will throw away both the new republic and the former empire, what he will do with this third faction is probably going to be some kind of chekov's gun for either side. I think this idea of a third faction could be forshadowed by his saber.[/sp]
I agree it was cool and refreshing but it would still be nice to have a villain who's bad ass and competent so we know there's stakes. TFA's villains were morons who got their asses kicked by a man who cleaned toilets for a living.
I'd say that the stakes come from Kylo actually being incredibly unhinged and how he can't control any part of himself, and I mean, [sp]he fucked up Han Solo for godsake[/sp], his ability to manipulate people seems to be his strongest suit (he's just not able to control his physical strength, which makes him seem wimpy in that regard.)
Two years since The Force Awakens already? Boy this Christmas feels pretty damn close. Bring on Episode 8!
I'm really hoping Rey gets her own unique lightsaber and, hopefully, a different colored one.
I'm really hoping Rey gets her own unique lightsaber and, hopefully, a different colored one.
can't see that not happening. you know, because of toy lines and stuff. which, in a way, almost makes me want her to NOT get a new one?
That is such a goofy poster.
It's like a combination of the RoTJ Book Cover and the Jedi Knight games. It's neat. Probably symbolizes that she is the balance to the force
lol what the fuck is with everyone spoiler tagging their theories everyone watched the trailer and has seen all the previous movies
lol what the fuck is with everyone spoiler tagging their theories everyone watched the trailer and has seen all the previous movies
i can tell you right now that isn't true, i haven't watched any of the old movies, and the first SW movie i did watch was the force awakens
i can tell you right now that isn't true, i haven't watched any of the old movies, and the first SW movie i did watch was the force awakens
You should change that
Can't wait for the scene of her carrying Luke in a backpack [t]http://i1.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/020/280/Rey_Holding_Luke.jpg[/t]
That chord at 1:24...vaguely reminiscent of:
oh cool they remade episode V. Totally unexpected after remaking episode IV Look forward to pirating this
wow pretty incredible you were able to decipher that from a trailer that showed literally nothing that would indicate that
oh cool they remade episode V. Totally unexpected after remaking episode IV
Can I get your future copy of the movie?
oh cool they remade episode V. Totally unexpected after remaking episode IV Look forward to pirating this
You saw the movie? Damn dude!
oh cool they remade episode V. Totally unexpected after remaking episode IV Look forward to pirating this
That copy is mine! I'm the big fan around here and everyone knows it.

He was just a rebellious punk with temper tantrums until he [sp]killed his own father[/sp]
lol what the fuck is with everyone spoiler tagging their theories everyone watched the trailer and has seen all the previous movies
Supposedly star wars is my favorite movie but I haven't seen the force awakens yet for some reason.
The Force Awakens is fun but I never felt the magic of the original trilogy permeating through. I can't wait to see it purely to find out if they try something new or ham fist an Empire Strikes Back clone. Beat for Beat TFA was the Original Star Wars film with a few superficial differences. I bet my bottom dollar they are going to mirror a scene like this in the film:
They did that in TFA already.
I meant thematically/emotionally/plot, not a physical location (a bridge over a pit).
I meant thematically/emotionally/plot, not a physical location (a bridge over a pit).
I'd argue [sp]Han's death[/sp] is the emotional part of that.
I think killing Han pretty much established him irredemable, either way there may just be a twist we won't see coming. On the flip side, I don't see Luke turning to the dark side either as that would undermine the original story
I dunno, was Anakin irredeemable after slaughtering tons of younglings? Killing Han is big, but not massively evil compared to what Vader did. Kylo could still easily pull a redemption arc.
I'd argue [sp]Han's death[/sp] is the emotional part of that.
True, maybe my issue is I didn't particularly find it surprising or a twist at all.
and the award for Most Cynical Post of April goes to...
Going to top that post with this one: Episode 8 will be good. It's directed and written by the guy who directed and wrote looper. Episode 9 will be shit and that's because of my pessimism for the film industry and my hatred for Jurassic World. They're bringing on the director of Jurassic World to write and direct episode 9. Jurassic World was a mess of bad characters, fanservice, and sequel setting up, and apparantly Disney is planning on milking the series with episodes 10,11,12 so I have a sneaky suspicion that most of episode 9 will about setting up for episodes 10,11,12.
Episode 8 will be good. It's directed and written by the guy who directed and wrote looper.
I hope so. Looper started really strong but fell off strongly towards the end imo.
