Remasters aren't just about looks though
Yup its about the game being revived. As most people don't keep last-gen consoles. So it gives them a chance to play the game again.
This looks really cool. Too bad you have to buy Infinite Warfare in order to play it, though. :disappoint:
I wonder if they're gonna remaster MW2 next time.
I hope not, MW2 is where the serie started going downhill.
The gun sounds are horrible, how did they mess that up?
CoD4's sounds were exactly amazing to begin with so I think they are at least a little better. Just noticed there's a ghillie suit guy on the first map, I'm pretty sure in the original they only appeared on non-urban maps.
I never thought the pop-up medals were that big of a deal in the other games, but in this footage they are fucking huge, especially the killstreak ones.
I thought this was supposed to be a remaster? The new UI is really tacky and the medal spam is insane. I'd rather play the original to be honest.
The medals look like shit, too. Everything is a smiley with a bullet hole.
Yup its about the game being revived. As most people don't keep last-gen consoles. But can I do this in the remaster?
I don't think there's anything to revise with mw2. I still played a lot, but I never enjoyed the game as much as I did with MW. edit: I wish we could buy the remake without buying Infinite Warfare, the price are ridiculous 109 CAD or 129 CAD (w/ season pass).
I wish we could buy the remake without buying Infinite Warfare, the price are ridiculous 109 CAD or 129 CAD (w/ season pass).
I bet it'll get released stand-alone in 6 months tops
That FOV is what, 45 ? Why do they make it so low ? It makes my eyes and head hurt, literally.
That FOV is what, 45 ? Why do they make it so low ? It makes my eyes and head hurt, literally.
Sacrifices have to be made to ensure 60fps on console hardware.
That FOV is what, 45 ? Why do they make it so low ? It makes my eyes and head hurt, literally.
It's been a trend by treyarch and sledgehammer to include an fov slider. IW usually doesn't but I think they will this time so I don't think there should be any concern
That FOV is what, 45 ? Why do they make it so low ? It makes my eyes and head hurt, literally.
If it's console gameplay it's not really a super huge issue. You're sat so far back from the screen most times that it looks fine (and actually allows you to discern objects further than 5 meters away). It seems like a fairly decent remaster, the new UI looks pretty good other than the large as fuck medal and accolade pop-ups. It's more out of the way and cleaner otherwise. The visuals look pretty solid to considering the source material is old now, they did some good work updating everything in that sense. But I do wonder if they're ever going to hire a sound engineer who isn't afraid to give their guns some beef. Something to make them feel like they are doing more than blasting hot air around.
Wow this looks like garbage.
Wow this looks like garbage.
How?
Because it looks like a game from 2011 or even older. The whole purpose of a remastered is to sell with graphics.
Because it looks like a game from 2011 or even older. The whole purpose of a remastered is to sell with graphics.
The purpose of a remaster is to update an old game to modern specifications, not sell with graphics. It doesn't have to necessarily make it look like a modern game.
The purpose of a remaster is to update an old game to modern specifications, not sell with graphics.
Because it looks like a game from 2011 or even older. The whole purpose of a remastered is to sell with graphics.
It's still a significant boost over normal MW4... http://www.ign.com/videos/2016/07/18/call-of-duty-4-remastered-graphics-comparison Besides, unlike BO3/IW there's not much opportunity to add greeble or other needless details to the guns so those are gonna look about the same with a fresh coat of paint.

While the remake is better on fidelity; goddamn he's so fucking far down the uncanny valley.
Honestly the graphics in the remaster look fine. They managed to up the fidelity while at the same time maintaining the same sort of flat style the original game had.
