Well those people are racist as well. What does that have to do with the video?
The video is directed at those people
If you're white and you already respect that black people are people who might like different things than you, have their own personalities and beliefs, and generally deserve to not be pigeonholed into ridiculous stereotypes then the video isn't for you and there's no need to get upset over it
"black history month? Why don't we have White History Month? Why don't we have able-bodied parking spots? Why don't we have cemeteries for alive people?"
shhhh no inequality = racism!!!!!!!
Consider rednecks and how the majority society views. While they are racially white, their culture is seen as something negative, something to be avoided. Would you consider a person who doesn't like redneck culture and is white as a racist? It's the exact same as someone from the majority culture not liking black culture.
Yeah but you see that's the problem though
The negative aspects of "white culture" are reduced to sub-cultural niches that aren't supposed to reflect the larger image.
The negative aspects of black sub-cultures on the other hand are purely attributed to the larger image of black culture which is essentialistic, hence racist.
"BOOHOO why dont we get to have a WHITE history moNTH WERE BEING OPPRESSED"
Black History Month is for acknowledging the history of black people, both the good and bad moments. Why not have a month to acknowledge the history of white people too?
every month is white history month
If it were then white people wouldn't have anywhere near as much privilege as other ethnicities.
Black History Month is for acknowledging the history of black people, both the good and bad moments. Why not have a month to acknowledge the history of white people too?
It's called History 101.
First women, then black people.
I know this will sound racist and sexist to some of you misunderstanding people, but I think it's kinda funny how the people that demand equal treatment end up demanding special treatment after getting the former.

How do you know anyone is going to demand special treatment after getting equal treatment if they aren't being treated equally yet

Neither women nor black people are demanding "special" treatment???
Did I watch a different video than you guys? I saw a trailer for a comedy film (or at least I think it was a trailer) about racism and how it cuts both ways. What did you guys see? The video makes the "tough black crew" look just as silly as the white frat boys
gonna need more than a month
Gonna need more than a month to acknowledge every mistake by every other ethnicity too. However it is the case that a month is able to convey the intended message.
For people who complain about black history month; it isn't just there for black people. It's also there for people of different races who may not know or understand African American history or culture.
The more we understand each other, the easier it is for us to find common ground.

White history month week one - the things that necessitated the need for a black history month
yeah!! i feel so persecuted!!
I only saw someone complaining about Black History Month as a joke.

I saw a video in which black people were trying to be seen not through the lens of what's, at best, a wrong pop culture gimmick, and at worst, racial prejudice
First women, then black people.

I find it funnier that whenever FP starts talking about racism or sexism, the thread goes up in flames.
I saw a video in which black people were trying to be seen not through the lens of what's, at best, a wrong pop culture gimmick, and at worst, racial prejudice
When the black guy in the cashmere sweater asks the "tough" group of black people about back culture, the group chides him for his apparent "whiteness". They're portrayed as just as racist and ridiculous as the white frat guys. The whole point of the video (other than be funny) was to show that both white and black people can be racist shlubs
I'm not even sure white people are the most racist these days
Well I still get racially profiled by police so..
I feel like this is in order

Hey max last time I checked you were a white man. Unless you pulled a reverse Michael Jackson you can't really speak on behalf of black people.

Jesus CHRIST all he did was post a funny video. Can you seriously not get a joke?
Max is so white, that he makes Wayne Brady look like Dave Chapelle.
rip my feelings
destroyed by reverse racism
how hard is it to understand satire
it's even in the video description
