There's an app for this.
Before I was just a regular man going about his daily life, thinking I wasn't hurting anyone. A friend of mine showed me this app and I quickly learned just how hurtful I was being. My privilege was so damning my phone started an alarm and the LGSTAF alliance kicked down my door and shot a privilege reducer into my chest. As we speak the calming waves of femininity rush through me as well add my newfound poverty and minority skin tone. Thanks mensly!
Oh man is that the black dude from the watchmen movie who was reading those comic books?

I'm pretty sure some people here are serious.
This forum gets dumber by the day.

Would you like me to pass the message on to him? I will be meeting him for an Easter celebration.

they're also probably the ones who didn't watch the video
why are people mad about the video?
The thing which aroused my emotions the most was the music.
Lol it's like max and starpluck convened to post this video just so they could show off how fucking tolerant and educated they are.
[editline]13th March 2013[/editline]
Not speaking of the video, can't watch it, but still
Best Part. 10/10 film; everyone should watch.
I saw a video in which black people were trying to be seen not through the lens of what's, at best, a wrong pop culture gimmick, and at worst, racial prejudice
erm m8 i think thats very close minded of you check your privilege
Yeah but you see that's the problem though
The negative aspects of "white culture" are reduced to sub-cultural niches that aren't supposed to reflect the larger image.
The negative aspects of black sub-cultures on the other hand are purely attributed to the larger image of black culture which is essentialistic, hence racist.
That's because there's no such thing as mainstream white culture in the strictest sense. There's a mainstream culture and subcultures. It's not that hard to understand really. The majority of people that make up mainstream culture happen to be white. Notice how negative black culture is very often referred to as black thug or gangsta culture.
Black culture, redneck culture and who knows what else are generally subcultures which differ from the mainstream culture.
Consider African culture - there's no such simple thing, as it will have massive differences between regions even in places where ethnicity is shared.
Consider European culture, different depending on where you are, asian the same.
But virtually every of these countries will have a mainstream culture, a culture which is usually seen as positive by the society at large.
This is true for the US as well, it also so happens that the whites make up a majority of this culture, but at the same time they also make up the majority of US population and to make matters even more complicated, members of vastly different ethnicities in fairly large numbers generally are generally a part of said mainstream culture.
As I've said before - people don't really care if you celebrate Hanukah, christmas, the ramadan, or some completely different days of festivities.
People will start caring, once they can't understand you well, once your core values start being fairly different from their own, once you start creating issues in their countries.
Generally speaking a lot of people are fairly colour blind. That's not saying that racism doesn't exist of course. But this is more of a different problem.
Also notice that just how there's multiple "white" negative subcultures, there's quite a lot of negative black subcultures. As opposed to one uniform black culture.
There's the gangsta culture, the hip hop and others.
The major difference between US black subcultures and US white subcultures is that most of the white ones tend to be more rural based whereas the black ones tend to be more inner city based.
How is it racist wanting to touch a black persons afro? Actually now that I think of it I'd like to touch someones afro.
Imagine every single one of your friends wants to rub your hair. It gets annoying after awhile. The bright side is that girls do it too...

I don't think this is as racist as it's due to the hair being unusual. Try being a blonde kid in an asian country. It's not that people are racist about it, it's more that it utterly fascinates them.
Just like the mods of this fine forum, I too suffer from white guilt.
How is it racist wanting to touch a black persons afro? Actually now that I think of it I'd like to touch someones afro.
obviously because any sort of action that accepts a difference between people that is influenced largely by race is racist, we should obviously just homogenize humans, no one is different, everyone is the same, fuck you culture, fuck you differences between races, those don't exist because that's racist.

That was beautiful...
Jesus CHRIST all he did was post a funny video. Can you seriously not get a joke?
I don't see what warrants this kind of response, really. The fact that he's actually making a jape (about the fact that MaxOfS2D seems to take this for more than a funny movie) makes this kind of ironic as well. Unless this is a joke too, at which point I'll really just pull myself out of this as it'd be too confusing.
That was beautiful...
It was actually on the reviews of the app.
if I had to come up with a stereotype of white culture I'd say we come across as a bunch of whiny little entitled shits who can't bear the thought that society is moving in a direction where we might not be the centre of attention anymore, like a toddler who tries to set the cat on fire when his baby brother is born
this thread really reinforces it
Hey max last time I checked you were a white man. Unless you pulled a reverse Michael Jackson you can't really speak on behalf of black people.
wow it's a joke video you silly fart

I'm just repeating the same shit people say to us when we don't think making fun of black people/women/whatever isn't funny. It's hilarious that they get all offended when people generalize all white people as racist assholes.
That was beautiful...
I'm afraid I plagiarised it from the comments section on the play store :D I take no credit for it.
I just hope the Privilege police don't save this in the database for later ;)
This isn't racist it's just pretentious and stupid.
Maybe it is because institutionalized racism doesn't exist against white people.
Please come to South Africa and see how many black people there are who think all white people are terrible and support Apartheid.
I'm pretty sure Max didn't actually watch this before he posted this
And everyone who is arguing about whites vs blacks in here is completely missing the point of the video. The video is saying that both white and black people can cause racial issues and that just sticking with people who are the same color as us is ridiculous. Stop seeing each other as "white" or "black" and start seeing them as people, arguing over who's more racist isn't helping anything
this movie looks p. funny, i want to see it.

But all this video is doing is separating people further.
It was actually on the reviews of the app.
Still pretty beautiful.
How to be as tolerant and guilt ridden as zeke and those like him: anything that had any conceivable possibility of propagating racism is indeed the worst thing ever, and anyone who agrees with such supreme racism must be called out on it, passively of course.
How bad can a movie about stopping Tyler Perry from making movies be?
Jokes aside, people are sure getting serious on both sides of this "issue" and it's hilarious to read the comments on Facepunch of those who are crying racism and those who are high and mighty defenders of social justice.
