so uh, whats the point of the 'virtual cinema' thing? that doesnt seem like what vr should be at all?
why would you play your games in a 'virtual cinema' when thats basically the same thing as looking at a monitor?
im very confused at his reasoning here, the 'virtual desktop' thing seems redundant.

It would also be in 3D and you could zoom in and out.
The idea is that if you zoomed all the way in it would be like experiencing a regular VR experience where you could look around in all directions and so on. If you started to feel sick you could zoom out. It's like having a window strapped to your face where there's an entire 3D world on the other side that follows your viewpoint and you can control how far away the window is.
That's my understanding anyway.
Easier to think of it as a movable window or 'portal' and not a screen.

This guy reminds me of one my dad's old friends who thought the government was after him and had pet tarantulas.

The problem is it only really makes sense with a high resolution display. It is projected only on the part of your entire view that is 2160x1200 now, it means the game screen itself is probably below 1080p. So probably second generation of the headset with 4k resolutions, would make this a good option for playing older games.

The Game Dungeon Super Cult Tycoon video is a pretty great example.
Such a good video, I'm pretty sure playing an insane Gordon Freeman for 9 years drove him insane.

This is actually exactly what VorpX allows you to do, and it works pefrectly if playing normal video games with 3D is what you want (except you can't see your keyboard and mouse). The more I think about it, the more I wish I could show it to Ross because it does sound like he would like it a lot.
[QUOTE=AnonymaPizza;50578979]Virtual Desktop kinda does what ross suggests as a solution towards the end.
though, I doubt it automatically converts games to stereoscopic.
