well, i've nearly been killed by an old person driving because they couldn't see me in their peripherals even though i could clearly see their pupils so i do think having some measure of testing for the advanced in age should be a thing

i was laughing my ass off when i got mine. I skipped out on the drivers ed and just waited till i was 20 to get it (my dad was a cop so he knew a hell of a lot more than driving instructors knew). While i was waiting outside in a huge line, some loud mouth idiot 17 year old behind me was bragging about being able to drive his sweet ass riced car. So after 30 minutes of this and waiting to get inside, He went into the computer lab testing area. After i got back from passing the actual driving test, I was waiting to get the paperwork finalized when i see said dickhead walk back into the DMV with his head down and his dad all pissed off stomping towards the DMV clerk. The idiot failed his test completely, and his fucking dad said that it had to be a mistake and they need to pass him. They had to escort him out after they told him that his dipshit son would have to come back in 24 hours to test again.

Damn. 24 hours? Here in Norway we have to wait two weeks if we fail the theory test and four if we fail the driving test, if I remember correctly.
America is fucking insane. We allow basically any ham-fisted retard to drive a car provided they aren't legally blind and can sorta parallel park a car.
Mind you, no restrictions on vehicle type, either. Same goes for moto licenses. You can go buy a GXR-1000 with your learner's permit and legally ride that 1000cc express ticket to death right into the pavement at 186mph on the Jersey turnpike while your bros watch your face skin get shaved off from the safety and comfort of their fart-can exhaust Honda Civic SI.
I don't know what it is, but Minnesota / Wisconsin have the shittiest drivers I have legitimately ever seen in the states. I lived in Missouri and never had such problems before, I mean there are crashes every single day basically on the way to the cities. What the fuck, Minnesota?
