I really hope this new push from so many major content creators can make a change.
Youtube really needs to fix/upgrade its system
seems like abuse of strikes is similar to being cyber bully or even worse trying ransom some money or positive reviews etc. ...
sad, hopefully Google does something to make chance to fight back easier

But that requires money and effort.
Really glad to see Nostalgia Critic posting a video like this, maybe a huge amount of popular content creators on Youtube will get Google's attention and fix their shitty, broken system.
Either Youtube will do something, or more likely it'll do nothing.
Until there is legitimate competition, i doubt youtube will care about the people that produce content.
But that requires money and effort.
YouTube has the time and money.
They just can't be fucked.
I can only hope that one day somewhere Google is held legally accountable for their negligence.
I imagine the only way to get any of this noticed at this point is to have someone large deal with it, like PewDiePie.
I hope a big YouTuber, like reaaally big YouTuber takes on Google and YouTube, legally in the same way Hollywood has. I know it's a friggen suicide run but at this point it seems legalities are the only way to deal with this.
I would like to see PDP do it, but that would also mean a sour relationship between him and Youtube.
I honestly hope someone tries to hit him really really hard with strikes, fails, and he ends up getting public about it.
Fantastic video which perfectly summarizes the situation!

it wont
nobody cares about this, and the people affected boast extremely small or irrelevant communities that even if recruited to their fullest potential would not spark enough of an outrage to reach anyone of any real authority on the matter
half a million views means basically nothing to youtube, but if you have an average of 5 to 10 million viewers then you might be able to raise a loud enough voice, except that the chances of you being fucked by this dumb system are basically nill at that point since it caters to massive channels in the first place
nothing substantial will happen but i hope i will be proven wrong, all this seems p fucked

Adam is a known furry. Also the scandalous tabs joke is the oldest joke in the book.

I made a guide on how to hack into a bank in a video game called Uplink and it wasn't taken down due to DMCA, but it was taken down because it was "showing the community how to do illegal things", more or less. It's a god damn video game. It took a month to go through the appeals process to get it back up again. Meanwhile we have channels like PrankInvasion and GoodLookingLoser instructing teenagers how to sexually harass girls in public, and they are doing just fine. It's bullshit. I had another video that received a copyright claim because of Content ID. Its algorithm "recognized" a piece of music in a small 5 second time window in one of my XCOM videos. It's the sound the game makes when the aliens get their turn. It sounds nothing like music. But Content ID decided it was.

Simply they only after you for doing illegal things if your small
The only way to get companies like google to take action is to create a big enough shitstorm over popular media, I am not referring to youtube or facebook, but television media, news, and court cases.
Only when they face actual negative consequence financially or publicly, they will take action.
Unfortunately thats how the world works. Even if all the most popular content creators like Nostalgia critic made these videos, it would have no more effect that someone standing on a soap box and screaming...
Another issue is that google has no interest in taking action in these cases, they will only suffer if they take on the case in favor of its users against the multi million companies and actors/directors/etc, rather than doing nothing and just making the money like usual.
What im saying is: its all about ->MONEY<- it has nothing to do with rights, just cause and "being good" its all about dem monies.
Welcome to the real world!
This pisses me off. I seriously thought about starting my own thing on youtube but the more I hear about this whole fiasco the less I want to bother with it all.
It feels like no matter what I end up doing, like review movies, doing let's plays, talk about farts, eat worms, I'd get copyright claims no matter what. It's fucking insane

I've received claims on trailers before. It's weird receiving a claim on a piece of promotional material that they themselves have released.
Team Fourstar (DBZ Abridged guys) just had their entire channel nuked.

They haven't said who made the claim but they confirmed it wasn't Funimation.

Wow...
So this whole fucking time NC was making those terrible, terrible skits because he preferred to make a few extra dollars from views than suffering a completely indefensible case against those vicious corporate cockroaches?
[editline]23rd February 2016[/editline]
I think everyone on FP needs to sign an apology letter.

Wait, really? People thought he was throwing in loads of unnecessary extra time and effort for shits and giggles?
I thought that the reason was pretty well conveyed ever since they did Jurassic World...
