Not in all cases. I turned out fine, probably.
Psychological problems aren't apparent to the person who has them
You can make them stand on one leg for 10 minutes. You can make them write a page about why what they did was wrong. You can make them drink a gallon of milk. Lots of things.
Drinking milk is a punishment?
Apparently I'm messed up in the head because I was hit as a kid. /sarcasm And don't tell me that I have a subconsciousness problem but don't know it - who are you to tell me what problems I do and do not have? You're not a fucking doctor. If I had any mental 'issues' they would be picked up on by either myself or someone else.
Spanking causes psychological damage period, regardless of circumstances, according to my sources
According to your sources. According to someone who got spanked several times being a kid and know a lot of people who also did, I tell you, except if the parents are seriously beating the shit out of the kid all the time, spanking doesn't harm someone's psychological integrity.
Is this gonna keep being a "No I'm right" or are you going to refute the TEN scholarly papers I showed you
Psychological problems aren't apparent to the person who has them
But what is a psychological problem? How can you tell? Everyone acts differently and has different personalities.
I was beat as a kid if I did something stupid and I was never violent etc etc etc.
Hi. I was never beaten as a child, and I'm not, nor do I intend to, ever violent. See, your logic is flawed. And if anything, Child abuse will lead to worse things.
Drinking milk is a punishment?
You ever drink a gallon of milk?
Just noticed a bieber avatar. That's got to go...
But what is a psychological problem? How can you tell? Everyone acts differently and has different personalities.
Please read the papers I posted, not explaining it for you
Is this gonna keep being a "No I'm right" or are you going to refute the TEN scholarly papers I showed you
seriously get some real experience in being spanked it does not cause psychological damage unless you are spanked because of no reason multiple times on a regular basis
I'd say, since spanking causes psychological damage including anxiety and slant towards violence it's not reasonable at all
I'm still wondering why through the ages, spanking has survived as a parenting tool. If it wouldn't have any positive effect, then why? You could reason that everything you get exposed to in your life has some sort of psychological impact.
You ever drink a gallon of milk?
Yeah, and I liked it. Rated myself agree because I mis-clicked but the official reason is, milk is awesome.
seriously get some real experienced in being spanked it does not cause psychological damage unless you are spanked because of no reason multiple times on a regular basis
You're wrong as I've explained already Seems like I've had to repeat that twenty times now [editline]9th January 2011[/editline]
I'm still wondering why through the ages, spanking has survived as a parenting tool.
Is this gonna keep being a "No I'm right" or are you going to refute the TEN scholarly papers I showed you
sure, spanking causes emotional harm, but as a child, it put me in my place. it taught me what was right from wrong, when and when not to do things, and the seriousness of my actions. i would only receive spankings when i seriously fucked up and i believe it worked well for me. i feel great as a person, psychologically. i'm not emotionally scarred or damaged. i feel great. but what i'm trying to say is that i don't really care about your sources or scholarly papers, i applaud your effort but all i care is that spanking worked.
Yeah, and I liked it. Rated myself agree because I mis-clicked but the official reason is, milk is awesome.
Sorry, i guess I wasn't clear. Drinking a gallon of milk in a certain period of time will induce vomiting.
Because bad parents can't control their kids without beating them and they justify it by beating them in specific areas
i don't know about you but beating has a very strong context to it. when i think about beating, i think of striking. with fists. there's a big difference between "that kid received a beating" and "that kid received a spanking"
I got 10 years of education behind me (I'm 16 at the moment and the last time my parents ever spanked me was 6 years ago) and not even once I've felt angry or emotionally disturbed about being spanked, because it always was for a good reason. Your studies are taking the case of roughly beating children without no reason on a regular basis. In 99% of the case, parents using physical punishment is just a spank, which doesn't let any kind of harm but a red butt for several minutes.

I'd like for there to be a part where you all admit you're wrong but at this point it's degenerated to where it's pure ad hominem and strawman shit, go refute those papers in a big 'ole post if you want me to post again This was great

-snip- MY AUTOMERGE AGAIN!

Read them. [editline]9th January 2011[/editline] 'Neways gonna go microwave some hot dogs and go to bed I guess

enjoy sleeping with your microwaved hot dogs
