Um. Nazis already took over America you dummies :v:. All the politicians wear Hugo Boss suits. Hugo Boss designed the SS uniforms and a lot of the clothing the Germans used during WW2.

And Ford was a huge Nazi.
Wait, you guys actually thought a movie about Space Nazi's from the Moon was going to be serious?

I'm fucking disappointed that America has to be a competent fighter in any type of space invasion movie.
Like holy shit. In Independence day they literally pulled the ending out of their ass.

Why do you expect a global superpower to be incompetent against any kind of threat, let alone aliens?
The USS George W. Bush
Why
Why do you expect a global superpower to be incompetent against any kind of threat, let alone aliens?
In space invasion movies they shouldn't be able to put up a competent fight and repel the invaders. The invading species is usually way more technologically advanced and you can tell that in movies they pull some weak spot crap to get the USA chanting going. The common audience can't take a negative ending.
Oh god damn it, I saw the first trailer and thought it was going to be a movie on the lines of Robocop, Starship Troopers... Satirical but Serious
This is just... Scary Movie-esque
I don't think it's quite that bad, there's atleast some seriousness in the plot.

I'll admit, the 'lol, weak spot' crap is usually pretty obvious. But just because the aliens are more technologically advanced doesn't mean that it's a free 'won't get your asses handed to you' card. Also, the only technological advantage the space nazi's would have would be that fancy antigravity tech, other than that, modern military hardware would completely kick their asses.

How did I miss this.
[editline]8th February 2012[/editline]
As stylish as they are, I'd still would prefer losing to space commies, at least they don't try to exterminate any one who doesn't fit in with their 'master plan'.
You're kidding right? You do know Stalin had a shitload of innocent people killed, too? It was like his hobby. If there was any sort of Communist invasion from the moon they'd most likely be just as hostile and just as bad as invading Nazis from the moon.
I don't think a "true" communist country would attempt a world take-over type thing, leaving you're whole argument bad in either situation.
Why waste Trillions of dollars on a massive spaceship when you could just, oh, I don't know, NUKE THEM!
Seriously, there's no way you could miss a fleet that size. I doubt the repercussions would be hat much more severe.
So why waste all that money...

...oh.
Sort of disappointed that it is going this far towards comedy.
It's quite scary to think of what a war would be like where MAD is nearly non existent.
Well in the very first teaser trailer a pigeon took a shit on the Nazi eagle thing, that should've been a pretty good hint that they were gearing toward comedy.

I don't exactly think a movie which is essentially scene after scene of Humanity getting eradicated, then ending with the last gasp of the last human being as the aliens begin strip-mining Earth is something really anyone would want to see. Can you name a movie where they pulled a negative ending off, at least in your opinion?
Why do we have so many "sci-fi" movies where Humanity's basically just fighting back an alien invasion twenty minutes into the future? We haven't had a good Space Opera in ages, besides Avatar (And that ended on a negative ending with Humanity losing and the natives winning, so that could fit with your idea of wanting a negative ending in a sci-fi movie.)
Why not? It would be fucking awesome. Humans are fucking stupid and we shoot radio beams into space.

Avatar and Battle for Terra come to mind, Humanity technically loses in both of those, and the internet community generally thinks those endings sucked ass while the general population liked them.

Great scott he just linked to tv tropes

Yea, maybe subtle comedy. Not shitty as Sarah Palin jokes.
I'm having trouble believing this is serious

Those endings suck ass because they're handled really fucking stupidly to make it feel good and sequel worthy. In Avatar, The people there are just extremely incompetent.
I thought I read someone that this was supposed to be a dark comedy but that's not the vibe I'm getting from the trailer. I'll probably see it anyway, because I really can't tell how it's going to turn out.
This trailer looks sort of bad compared to their past trailers.
I'm just gonna hope that this'll be a decent movie.
Is it just me or the chick at 1:30 looks sexy in that SS uniform?
