"what the hell faith, move it" nigga do you see what im doing?
I digged in those 101 videos. Didn't could find one of these wall-climbs that you can infite climb. Or did i missed it? This is the one i mean,
That is actually a lot slower than using the elevator There aren't many places you can use the infinite climb to your benefit. Currently, the only spot used is during the Atrium, but even then, that's only for super skilled guys. If you meant you couldn't find a vid on how to do it, basically you just Wall climb > Side hop > face wall to get the small wall run > 180 jump > repeat
3:55 "What the hell, move, Faith!" I lost it :v:

Just want to get on rooftops where you actually can't normally get up. I just started at chapter: 3 Heat level in the beginning behind you there is a narrow gap between 2 buildings where you actually can do this, i tried like 50x to do this wall climb trick, i keep falling to death. The way i found this out is this video that shows how to do it, still can't get properly yet. https://www.youtube.com//watch?v=lwgSkJykoto I can tell you it is pain the in the ass.
mirrors edge from 2008 still looks better than most next-gen games today
Yeah there really is nothing like Mirrors Edge, I just hope the sequel can improve on it. Mirrors Edge really in its stride can feel pretty damn good to play but when it trips itself up it can be really frustrating not just in terms of game design but because I know it can do so much better.
The last few levels were really disappointing, especially the server room. It just turned into a normal FPS.
Man what a unique little game. Here's hoping the second one improves what it can.
Didn't Anita have a speech at DICE complaining that the controls of Mirrors Edge are too hard for girls to get into? http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/TheKodu/the-sarkeesian-the-dice-and-the-mirror--235992.phtml Oh yeah. Let's just hope the devs don't want to be too progressive with the sequel
Fuck this guy... 25:14. It took me half an hour to get to the top of this level the first time, with lots of figuring out where to go and some hard jumps This guy just goes boop boop boop boop done
How do you even discover methods like this
@9:15 you know shit's about to pop off when the speedrunner stops
I've always loved the music in this game.
man, this is what scares me the most about making a mirror's edge-esque game i'm scared my coding will be super exploited, and that's not good for a competitive multiplayer game. so i'm gonna have to run it through a lot of vigorous testing
a mirror's edge-esque game

a competitive multiplayer game.
what
what
think speedrunners in first person, or a mario kart/mirrors edge baby
think speedrunners in first person, or a mario kart/mirrors edge baby
I actually had an idea that it would be cool to make it Trackmania style, like you could build basic courses with stretchable blocks and compete on them online.

Is ME an exception? [editline]19th April 2015[/editline]
think speedrunners in first person, or a mario kart/mirrors edge baby
What's the point of speedrunning a game with no exploits?
Typically games in Unreal Engine come with their own map editor. Is ME an exception?
I guess you mean engine's own map editor, and you know it's not that end-user friendly. Because of that, even if there was a possibility of making ME maps there wouldn't be too much of them. Yet I think it should be possible to implement ingame editor to produce designs simillar to ME DLC levels.

The kick glitch can literally be fixed by editing one line of code that has something to do with animation windows :v:

That kinda thing terrifies the dogshit out of me. :v:
"what the hell faith, move it" nigga do you see what im doing?
reminds me of this, 7:20
As good as this is i can't help but feel a little disappointed it was done by using move exploits rather than being really fluid and fast proper moves all streamed together super quickly so it looked really smooth and natural.

Now I feel dumb for thinking that speed runs were all in one go.
Now I feel dumb for thinking that speed runs were all in one go.
Depends on the speedrun. Lots of people do full runs at once.
Jesus, it took me 6 hours to finish mirrors edge.
I still haven't finished it, and I've had it a year :v:
Gordon Freeman bouncing backwards would finish this faster.
Now I feel dumb for thinking that speed runs were all in one go.
Single-segment runs are the speedruns considered 'legitimate' while segmented is basically a tech demo showing off what impressive stuff you can do. leaderboards and such are almost always single-segment.
After trying it like alot of times i still cannot seem to figure the wall climb glitch. At first you can see i do the wall run after the side hop on the wall, and it worked when i approach it. But when it comes to wallrun + wall climb + side hop + wallrun it seems that everytime i do it wont work. Someone have experience on this particular trick? Thanks.
