Flame decals, bald eagle miniguns, bull horns, supercharged V8s, and stars and stripes everywhere. Honestly, with specs like that how can we lose?

Am I the only one who thinks this is really unsportsmanlike? First they challenge a random Japanese company to a duel and then they call on their whole country to fund them? At least set up a kickstarter for the Japanese company too.

Do we actually know what the rules of the fight are going to be? Like what actually counts as a win? Do they actually have to disable or destroy the other robot? How will they do that without mangling the pilot? The only way I can think of that will make this awesome is if the robots ended up being remote controlled allowing for a no holds barred destruction fest. If the pilots are actually in the robot then there's going to be a lot of safety regulations getting in the way of fun.

This fight should be the start of legal bloodsports.

I really hope they get all the upgrades they need. The current design is slow and sluggish, and this type of fight [B][I]needs[/I][/B] to be eventful and fast, especially since they want to include melee combat. [editline]19th August 2015[/editline] I like how their kickstarter extended goals actually put important cool robot stuff [B][I]before[/I][/B] cosmetics and crew safety equipment, lol. Like at $500k they get those crazy tank tracks, $750k the new weapons, $1 mil the DARPA balancing system, but then at $1.25 mil life safety systems, and $1.5 mil they give it a paint job.

I get the feeling the japanese and americans teams at the very least came to some agreement as to whether other companies could get involved before the fight started.

Duh.

Megabots had an AMA on reddit. They said that it won't be scripted and that they didn't mind getting any injuries. There's supposed to be a button to deactivate both robots in case something serious happens. There will be an east sun and west sun for the purposes of this display.
