they don't have a "WWI" it's one long ass continuous war hey guys gears of war is like 'nam
You're just acting dumb now or you are dumb enough to not see the obvious alliteration jesus.
I don't know, I mean reading the plot on Wikipedia it's just "space murrkians lol vs space nazis lol" except this time around the americans are actually the most humongous dickheads in the galaxy and the nazis didn't really do anything wrong. So you're playing on the bad side.
I read that Wikipedia article, it said nothing about a group of people thing they're the superior beings in the world, it said nothing about death camps, and it said nothing about a group of people harboring an intense grudge against another group of people. Also, this is fucking space, not Earth.
that's you're only argument isn't it? "hey dude at the end of the sixth sense, the bruce willis character is santa clause" "no" "yeah you don't get it?" "no" "you're dumb" [editline]7th January 2011[/editline]
I read that Wikipedia article, it said nothing about a group of people thing they're the superior beings in the world, it said nothing about death camps, and it said nothing about a group of people harboring an intense grudge against another group of people. I've been closely following the story since I played the first game :v: If this is on the main site then they've started adding in new points because the whole Planet sucking thing was never there. The comic series Guerrilla commissioned contradicts that story altogether. Also, the Helghast are based off the Axis powers. You can tell from the way the buildings, weapons and vehicles are which have strong German influences while their character based system definitely looks similar to the Japanese character system. But beyond that, everything is their own.
By the way, the song is called 'Calamity' by the group Two Steps From Hell.
is it a bad thing to be a Ps3 player but to hate Killzone?
Not really, the only exclusive I fell in love with was Uncharted 2.
The game would get alot more people buying if you were playing as helghast!
The game is set in an era of space colonization where the Helghast Empire has recovered from its defeat in the First Helghan War and launched a blitzkrieg against the outer Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (I.S.A.) colony planet Vekta. Vekta's orbital Strategic Defense (S.D.) platforms failed during the initial assault, allowing the Helghast to land swarms of soldiers onto the surface and making it all the more difficult for the outnumbered I.S.A. forces.
Blitzkrieg after recovering from a defeat in [previous war] under the leadership of [charismatic dictator]. Come on, how is that not space nazis you're just playing retard now.
Blitzkrieg after recovering from a defeat in [previous war] under the leadership of [charismatic dictator]. Come on, how is that not space nazis you're just playing retard now.
Oh look, the Vietnamese did that too :v: And the Russians There's the US You can't just point to the Blitzkrieg and tie that into a dictator, even countries without dictators know the Blitzkrieg is an excellent offensive strategy. Why can't something be based off something else? Jesus Christ...the only reason we tie it with Germany is because most of Hitler's angry speeches were recorded. That's the only reason why, somehow trying to over simplify it only makes you look desperate to poke holes in it. Especially when the defeat of Germany didn't have all of Germany become exiled to some foreign island.
How is it physically possible to be this retarded? It couldn't be more obvious if Visari's first name was Adolf. You're just desperate to try and make the game look so original.
The only real problem I see with Killzone is the unnecessary cursing. The occasional "Shit!" or "What the fuck!" is alright, but when Rico and Natko substituted breathing for cursing it got annoying as hell.
All of the war footage I've seen from the middle east is essentially the same. I think it really shows the nature of the conflict.
Killzone 2's atmosphere really sucked me in, the battles and sounds were so realistic. The voice acting really killed it for me though, but this Killzone 3 trailer gives me hope that it won't be as bad this time around.
I take it not all the characters were as nicely acted as this Visari guy then? D:
The game would get alot more people buying if you were playing as helghast!
Can't you as the Helghast during bot play?
The voices during gameplay were very monotone which really deducted from the level of tensity during action scenes. If a character tells you to follow him, and you start running behind him, he talks to you as if you are sitting side by side etc..
Can't you as the Helghast during bot play?
I meant in the campaign.

the logic of this thread game is about war war = good vs bad good = usa bad = nazi's thus it is a remake of ww2
the logic of this thread game is about war war = good vs bad good = usa bad = nazi's thus it is a remake of ww2
Anyone who tries to argue that is an idiot. Trying to compare the KZ Series to WWII just doesn't make any sense. That'd be like saying the Nazis (Helghast, to an extent) discovered Poland (Vekta) and then the rest of the world (ISA, Humans) united against them, forcing them out of it and sent them to Antarctica (Helghan) or some other uninhabitable crap hole.
Please tell me you play the pseudo-nazis with the cool uniforms and conflicting leaders that seem to have actual depth to them and not the generic buzzcut 'War is hell, I must defend myself/my country/my planet from evil' army types.
I'm starting to get the feeling that this game might not have a happy ending.

[editline]8th January 2011[/editline]
Nah you play as the generic buzzcuts, the game's meant to fool with your perceptions on who's "right" and who's not.
the problem with the Killzone series is, if you've read any of it, you know that's how it's supposed to be and yet the games don't touch on that until the last few missions. Killzone 2 for example didn't touch on it until the last hour of the game. Guerrilla really needs to work on story delivery. [editline]8th January 2011[/editline] and of course the military uniforms of the Helghast bare resemblance to those of the Nazis, the Nazis actually designed both casual and military uniforms specifically to instill an idea of power and fear, and they did so successfully. no other military in history has had uniforms that actually make them look like bad guys. the architecture sort of follows I SUPPOSE but the Helghast just have typical Gothic architecture you can find all over Europe in any era. as far as weaponry and vehicles go, seeing that all of the Helghan weapons and vehicles are totally futuristic looking and bare no resemblance to anything in the real life (floating tanks, matrix-like sentries, etc.), i don't see how you can make that comparison.
IS that fucking MALCOLM MCDOWELL AS ADMIRAL TOLWYN or what?!
Malcolm McDowell voices Jorhan Stahl, CEO of Stahl Arms, the largest Helghast Arms Developer.
According to the backstory for Killzone, humanity starts colonising outer space after WWIII has happened. what [editline]16th January 2011[/editline] still looks cool though
I've never played Killzone, but I've always thought it looked awesome. I wish they'd make a game where you could be someone like the Helghast, taking shit over and fucking it up. Enough of being some superhero, I want to fucking BEAT SOME CIVILIANS
