I find it amazing that they own one of the most profitable series of games and yet can't find the resources to get off their ass and make something even just a little bit fresh. But this is just disgraceful.
Anyone else find it ironic that suddenly Treyarch is the "good" Call of Duty maker after them being lambasted as the "shitty" Cod Devs in the past?
a lot of COD fans still hate treyarch i assume it's because they occasionally attempt to maintain a semblance of balance by nerfing certain weapon types which results in an internet rampage from people who used them
Anyone else find it ironic that suddenly Treyarch is the "good" Call of Duty maker after them being lambasted as the "shitty" Cod Devs in the past?
I'd hardly call it sudden.
War, war never changes.
Anyone else find it ironic that suddenly Treyarch is the "good" Call of Duty maker after them being lambasted as the "shitty" Cod Devs in the past?
They're good now because they actually are good. CoD 3 was abysmal imo, WaW was better but it was still lacking. They severely improved with Black Ops 1, and even moreso with Black Ops 2.
I'd hardly call it sudden.
yea, most likely so. I haven't bought any call of duty title since MW2.
Blops was the best after 4.
oh god, how can they run a successful company
By not "wasting" their money and instead reuse their assets? More profit that way.
my friend works at Gamestop and when people came in asking for "Ghosts" she'd just be like “Those aren’t real we don’t carry them tough luck my friend” and apparently she made a bunch of neckbeard dudes REALLY mad
Give them Luigi's mansion.
They're good now because they actually are good. CoD 3 was abysmal imo, WaW was better but it was still lacking. They severely improved with Black Ops 1, and even moreso with Black Ops 2.
black ops 1 was better than 2 you could actually play it without having adhd
Blops was good, which is why I bought MW3, which of course was total shit. Haven't bought a CoD game after MW3
blops 2 has the best multiplayer in cod pick 10 class system, prettiest and well designed maps, etc. ghosts is better than usual but it doesn't even come close. i want the squad point system to carry over to blops 2 or whatever treyarch makes next.
First Call of Duty will always be best Call of Duty. Can't believe it wen't from that to this.
I liked MW, MW2 and both blopses. They were fun. I can't say I'm sad to see it go, though.
It's obvious that they both independently found the best possible animations to use in each game, I don't know why anyone would think this is just them being lazy
I actually liked mw2 mw3 was bad, and blops2 was a bit staler than blops 1 imo, but still good the best cod game? fuck me, world at war
grew tired of this series after MW2
Black Ops 1 was great in just about every way, and with the exception of about the last third of the game, Black Ops 2 was great as well.
thinking they actually put effort in the campaign lol
uhh, idk, maybe it's a reference to mw2? It's hard to believe a large company would be this lazy to actually recycle a scene like that.
I feel that Infinity Ward is getting unfairly shat on. They made Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4. Modern Warfare 2 was good too in my opinion. The new team is 'not' Infinity Ward, which is why Treyarch makes the good CoD games now.
CoD 4 was fantastic, they put A LOT of effort into that game and the singleplayer and multiplayer were top notch. MW2 had a really fun singleplayer campaign with some great moments, multiplayer was fun. But its got the point where its seriously been the same game with a different skin for like the past 5 fucking years now or something.
The thing is, Treyarch have done a much better job at innovating the series. I use the term innovation lightly because I doubt Activision has the "innovation" attitude. They probably whip all the devs into submission and tell them not to do anything too drastic. The thing is, IW, by name alone, continue pumping out the same modern warefare type of game every 2 years. Treyarch, on the other hand, have covered more eras than IW has. IW went from WWII to Modern Warfare. Treyarch has tackled WWII, the Cold War, and even the future. Treyarch has had rights to the series in far less time than IW and they have done more than IW has done. That is really quite sad. Their storyline for BO may be a little slacking, but god damn at least they TRY to make the same repeated garbage feel fresh. That's why I'll always buy a CoD from Treyarch and leave IW to die.
I disagree, Call of Duty is nothing but a point-and-click adventure where you go down generic corridors and at the end of every single corridor is a set-piece/cut-scene. It's all drivel, even Call of Duty 4 was bland, they at least had a semi-plausible plot and some god damn narrative complexity, but that half-assed effort got COD4 labelled as "groundbreaking" and "innovative" so it's spewed forth this never ending tidal wave of shitty remakes. They're not games made by people who love gaming, they're calculated and designed to generate revenue.

I liked Blops 1's campaign. Get at me.
lmfao are you for real why would the developers even make call of duty if they didn't like it at least a little bit.
Because it's their job? What else would they make a living off?
Because it's their job? What else would they make a living off?
they could join another studio?? people leave and join studios very regularly so its not like they're stuck there
There are appreciable differences between the two Black Ops games.
TB hit the nail on the head in his wtf is of this at least it seems like treyarch actually tries the slightest bit
And I thought the recycling couldn't get any worse.
Rate me dumb, but I bought this game seeing if it would be any good besides the campaign, and I'm actually glad I bought it, it's good fun. I haven't bought a COD game since MW2 because that game was such a pile of shit.
