They said they're releasing all the dev tools they had access to as well as the game's source code. It's a modder's wet dream.
Taleworlds, for those not in the know, has always been very welcoming to the modding community. In fact, there's an achievement for Warband for simply launching the game with a mod. They know that mods keep the game alive, and that it's far better for people to roam free rather than try to put everything on the backburner. Taleworlds kicks the shit out of Bethesda in regards to Modding over DLC. In fact, two mod teams were brought in to create official DLC (Mount and Musket = Napoleonic Wars, Brytenwalda = Viking Conquest). However, these two DLCs are very focused, and very refined, and have large communities all their own.
The enemies started fleeing one by one, not together. You also have to chase them to the edge of the map to win the battle
im pretty sure there was a morale system per unit that took into account nearby deaths, charging horses, and arrow volleys that would lead to chunks of men fleeing all together, or sometimes individually. Maybe that was a mod though.
I never thought I'd see a M&B game that looks this good. I'm really hoping they flesh out the kingdom building aspects of it though, the base Warband is fun but always felt so lackluster in anything other than combat.
I love M&B games and i'm just so happy that in Bannerlord when sieging a castle outside of the battle you can break down their defensive walls to make it easier to storm. It actually gives incentives to waiting a few in game days before attacking so you have an easier entry. Also I must say in at least default Warband when you are sieging a castle I found that you could never convince a castle to surrender even if you was stood outside with an army of 1000+ and them having a garrison of like 5. I honestly do hope that Bannerlord will allow me to be able to take a castle without always having to storm it. In Warband the best I could do would be to starve them until they come out of the castle to fight me but it would be nice if you could actually convince them to surrender the castle in Bannerlord instead.
i'd love it if you could kill lords (maybe leave it to some sort of "hardcore mode"), and successors took over do they plan on adding anything like that to this game? i only started playing m&b this month

It can have all the downsides in the world so long as it sends the message to my enemies that I am going to conquer them and that if they fail to surrender they too will meet the sword to my roaring crowds of supporters. Right now the best thing I can do is strip a lord of all his belongings and keep him in a cell until I can sell him back. If they was to add the ability to execute lords I think it would be a great addition that should come with major risks for the player but allow you to become so feared that you can convince castles and lords in the field to surrender in certain circumstances. Basically a text option of fear where you tell the lord that if they fail to comply their head will be put to the block like "insert lords name you killed" previously.
Its like a shinier Warband and I LOVE IT
It's more than just shinier. I love how sieges won't just be a bottleneck on a ladder anymore.
I just hope I can run it.
It looks fucking amazing, but I really, REALLY still want to see if they've improved diplomacy or not.
I'd love to see M&B's Full Invasion mod with this
I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!! RELEASE IT ALREADY BEEN WAITING SINCE 2011
I hope warsword conquest will get updated for this.
