Well, for me the fear part is always there, but not taking action will almost ensure you getting seriously injured. But I've never really looked at it that way, I always get out of the situation by never showing any fear at all, I always kind of go right back at them even angrier.
Is it like a, 'when should I strike' moment, or...?
But, avoiding the fight is the best option - I guess I never got that across in my point. I don't go looking for fights like the three in the video, obviously.

People with self esteem or social issues are usually targeted by bullies, it can be really hard to put an end to prolonged bullying because the victim may feel like they're responsible or that they actually have it coming to them, and so they don't want to do anything to make it worse and choose to just bear it.

The 'bullies' aren't going to look to fuck with him knowing how big he is, and the fact he will fight back.
No one actively searches to get hurt, even if it is over pride. I can almost guarantee they wouldn't come back at him.

It didn't work for me in my case. In fact, it forced both teachers and students to side against me since they found a justification for why attackers were attacking me.
