Creativity is dead because most people don't have the time/talent to draw an original comic to convey a story they want to share? Bullshit. Creative people are still going to create new content, regardless of how popular memes and rage faces are.
I like it when people complain about reddit because of a single subreddit.
No, it's all of reddit. The bigger a subreddit gets the closer it becomes to r/pics
Now this is all true, but still it can only be applied to two subreddits (r/fuuuuu and r/adviceanimals - absolutely awful places), why are the blaming the whole website? -edit- Actually I am wrong
Top image on the reddit homepage right now is this: http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/qqkt4/smart_time_management/ someone just took a scene from a movie or tv series, screencapped some bits, and wrote captions of the dialogue. You may as well have just fucking linked the actual clip, but the quest for upvotes is too compelling I guess.
well it's r/funny, its about awful images macros. Unfortunately it is true, most subreddits are filled with unfunny jokes and repeating memes, that video is very-very true

Worse than those, actually.

I can't agree more with this video. Except, making fun of Reddit isn't exactly humorous, it's kind of serious, you could say? I don't know, but I really loathe Reddit. This video was very insightful, of course. I'd never even sift through Reddit.
Most of the people do not understand that the video isn't against reddit, but is against the whole meme movement, reddit just happens to be the most "mainstream" part of evil

I actually thought this earlier, trollface is one of the few memes with a clear copyright holder
the irony is that this video is just as try-hard as anything on reddit
I will try to show this video to all my "meme loving" friends, even though they probably won't get what it is about Also I wonder how many downvotes would this video get if posted on reddit
The problem with reddit I believe is their retarded point system. People don't post jokes because they are funny, they do it because they want points. Point systems work for the site because it gets more people posting but it turns people into point whores. Sites like youtube and fj use it now and its obvious its caused the content to suffer. The thing that really gets me mad about reddit is when they were trying to copy right memes so funnyjunk wouldn't use them. Then when the creator of troll face tried to stop reddit from using rage face they got super pissed. All those hypocrites care about is their worthless karma.

But the thread marches on. If your post got 15 winners and 20 funnies a few pages back, it doesn't matter that much. On Reddit, though, only the most popular posts are seen. People emulate the popular to become cool themselves, resulting in the circlejerk that reddit is famous for.
I only use Reddit for a little bit of porn and even then it sucks shit.
ive never been on reddit heh
ive never been on reddit heh
That's nice, neither have I. Hey, quick joke, go to http://reddit.com/r/originalcontent You'll see, there's only two posts there.
Meme images can be funny the first time you see them, but they get really tiresome after seeing them everywhere. (cough cough, rage comics)
Wesker? Wesker is that you?
There's like, 250 comments on a reddit post about this video. 90% of all the comments are basically them begging for forgiveness and admitting they're shit lmfao
complaining about how creativity on the internet as we know it is dying, and the internet no longer is a "culture". just a big "meme" clusterfuck.
Once a certain social website becomes popular enough, this constant regurgitating of old jokes is bound to happen. Put a million people together with a way to share information instantly between them, and you'll almost certainly end up with thousands who find this shit funny. Just look at Youtube comments, you can predict them before you're even done watching the video. Besides, how many people do you know who are actually creative and could draw their own comic for example? Of course everyone could do it, but most of them are just extremely bad at it. When they decide to tell a funny story, they could just type it out, but noone would ever read it amongst the flood of everything else on the website. So they choose to make a ragecomic, because pictures are just more efficient and ragecomics are "the cool thing to do right now". Just think of all the other stupid shit people do because it's cool. No amount of complaining is going to fix that.
http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/qq4ul/le_reddit_video/
Oh wow they think making premium accounts will improve quality? From looking at the goldmember forums, it's gonna end up shittier than before.

That's seriously just a Selleys TV commercial that's been screen capped and subtitled... It used to be shown over here months ago. I'm glad I haven't been to reddit.
