Overall you are significantly less likely to be attacked, that seems worth it to me.
Open carry is more effective because speople knowing you have a gun makes you less of a target.
Well I guess if you're that paranoid of being a target...

Less likely to be attacked, but more likely to attack/cause an accident yourself. The amount of gun incidents and accidents in America are way higher than in any other country.

I don't know what's with Switzerland in that picture.
Sadly, these gun laws are so much embedded in the culture that you'll get something close to a civil war when you ban open carrying...
But that doesn't make it right though.
Retarded

You've got the right to Free Speech, but that doesn't make it alright to yell fire in a theater. People ought to have the right to feel safe.

Switzerland is exactly where it should be?
The fact is he doesn't need a gun for any reason whatsoever so why carry one?! I'm glad I live in the UK
I'm tired of people calling this an assault rifle.
This is NOT an assault rifle. This is a semi-automatic rifle.
Inform yourselves.
The Federal Government of the United States definition of assault rifle includes rifles that are semi-automatic versions of earlier developed fully automatic rifles.
Inform yourself.
The guy with the gun is a stupid, awkward asshole.

Personal defense?
I don't know much about the UK, but apparently there, rapes and muggings are something that's out of a fantasy novel, where it's physically impossible for it to occur.

Yelling fire would probably cause panic and commotion to the extent of people getting injured or killed. A man walking with a rifle on his back in a non threatening manner wouldn't cause people to get trampled.

Where did you hear that? One of my best friends got mugged a few days ago, and a local-garage owner recently got arrested for rape. Rapes, granted, are less common, but muggings certainly aren't uncommon.

I was referring to how, according to Haunted, carrying a gun for self defense isn't necessary in Britain due to what I could only assume is a lack of crime whatsoever
What is it nowadays with assholes who walk around purposely just to gain attention like this, sure it's fucking legal but why the fuck do you care? I mean really who the gives a flying fuck? It's clearly going to make people uneasy.
I don't get the debate here, oh no it's legal so I'll fucking carry my gun around, oh wait a second the police appear to have stopped me, I wonder why people would be scared of someone carrying a gun I mean I might be crazy and potentially go on a rampage but I really don't get the big deal, see the injustice for yourselves people, see how these policemen infringe upon my rights. Fuck OFF!
It's legal for me to jam my finger up my ass in public but I don't think I'm going to do it anytime soon.
what a douche
That's nothing, my journalist friend was carrying an AK-47 in his bare hands in a big city here where even owning a gun is illegal. He was stopped really quick and of course had immediately explained and shown all the documents confirming that this gun is just a prop (the experiment was about how long you can openly carry a huge gun here).
This guy on the other hand said that this video was to "show what will happen" and instead of showing what would actually happen if you were to cooperate with the police officer who's just a guy with a family and friends doing his job and then to be let go in less than 2 minutes he started a mass debate.
