Student mad at teacher for not actually teaching, teacher's only reaction is "bye"

There isn't any context given to this video, its just a kid going off on a rant in front of class.
Making a value judgement on the teacher based on that video isn't good because then you start making assumptions that may or may not be true.
what really caught me in the video is the kid mentioning that the teacher made a statement the day before about her job just being a paycheck. that's not cool
Remember that you're hearing that comment second hand from the student. There is like I said before, a lack of context with the whole video.
We also had a teacher who took a reasonably sized capacitor and power supply outside, overloaded the shit out of the capacitor and exploded it
this is learning vol 1
Still not sure if the other teens were laughing at or with him.. Drone mindset makes me think AT him, unfortunately, but I hope not.
I love teachers that don't assume everyone in a highschool is 3 years old and "OH THAT JOKE IS HIGHLY OFFENSIVE INSTANT EXPULSION"
Speech was fine but a 1:30 video isn't enough context to actually side with anyone - this student could be a habitual disruptive smartass for all we know.
High school was such a waste of time. I only had three teachers who were passionate about the subject they taught, and needless to say I learned the most in those three classes. The other classes were basically as the guy in the video described, where they just relay facts to the student and get them to do packets. The result? Well I didn't learn anything from those classes, but rather memorize a bunch of useless knowledge for the upcoming test, and then forget them right after.
I'm in university now, and I find the learning experience much better. I'm lucky that every single one of my teachers are actually passionate about the subjects, and I have to say I have learned much more in my one year of university so far than my 5 years in high school.

The guy ranting says the teacher seems to do nothing but give the class packets to read from every day instead of actually doing a lecture. He told her she should actually do a lecture once in a while and was immediately told to leave.

It pisses me off how a lot of teachers see themselves as authority figures more than educators nowadays.
People have this mentality nowadays that school is less an institution for learning and more a teenage daycare, it's doing nothing but raising a generation that despises education.

that tower was where she was doing critical research on faster than light travel until that asshole came along and brought her down

Yeah exactly, its the student's message only. There isn't any context about the situation to determine any value of either person.
We don't actually know the extent of how true that kid's speech was.
"you're wasting my time" lol your time doing what? passing out a packet and then sitting down?
I literally walked into my junior high school history class today and watched the comedian Gabriel Inglesias on our projector.
Then we made acrostic poems about Hitler.
Horrible
Irritable
Twat
Lame-as

I remember having this crap english teacher who talked like a monkey and a lot of times asked me about some words and its writting/pronunciation. She got sick and we had for just one month an awesome teacher who made every class different. Songs and actual activities where we learnt everything the other teacher couldnt do/didnt want to. When she came back, she made this shitty try of a dynamic class just for the first day and then went back to the same, reading the packet for the entire class and then answer some premade questions.
After a while i met the one month teacher walking to school and asked what he was doing since he had to left.
He told me "well, you know, just selling some popcorn at the street".
We laughed, said goodbye and after that i never saw him again.
we literally do nothing in math
Our teacher tries to teach, but if anyone makes the slightest noise or giggle, she spends 30 minutes getting off track and shit
The "do nows" or w/e you wanna call them, end up taking up like 30-40 minutes. She will spend like 20-30 questions on one fucking problem, its stupid.
I wanna fucking learn, fuck.
Also stop with the goddamned "IF YOU DONT WORK IT OUT, ITS WRONG" bull shit. We have calculators for a reason.
Substitute teachers are even worse. They are the most apathetic breed of adult I have ever seen since they have literally no obligations to actually teach the class and more often than not they try and feed their little power trips by being super strict for literally no reason.
The hardest part of their job is finding the fucking class they're substituting.

I always hated that about math.

Most of the information of the school is in the video description and just typing it google brings up the school.

This is coming from someone who's taken quite a bit of math courses in college (not a math major rather engineering), I really don't remember using a calculator much in those courses.
Those courses taught stuff that was mostly incompatible with normal calculators.
Granted there are tools such as MatLab or Wolfram that can solve those types of things, but there is a lot of value in having to learn stuff in math without the use of tools.

A lot of times, especially with algebra and whatnot, it's about how to think about the problems rather than solving them
I took Physics and Algebra at the same time and if I hadn't learned how to solve equations without a calculator I wouldn't have understood physics half as well
I wouldn't make a statement like some kids and this guy does, but I hate when I get a poor education.
I am very glad to have a few amazing teachers in my life. Most of them fucking sucked though. The education system is terrible. We are still stuck in an education system based on the fucking industrial revolution where they would teach kids at a young at to abide by a bell system, raising their hand, asking to go the bathroom, preparation to work in a factory.
Everything is backwards in the standard education system. However, fixing it relies upon the intelligence of a population, and that is rather low in America lately. Just changing the way school works wouldn't do much if the teachers and students were still idiots.
It's an endless cycle of shit and I swear to god it's going to collapse one day.
I feel like I've been kinda lucky through my school years with teachers.
I'm currently in Upper Secondary School, Gymnasiet in Swedish, first year, and I'm doing IT/EE.
The only teacher that my entire class dislikes is the guy we have specifically for those studies.
Guy knows his stuff, don't get me wrong, but he's completely worthless at teaching. No matter what you ask him he comes up with a halfassed answer and most of the time, keyword is most, he writes what we are gonna do IN CLASS, not before.
He's been fired from the school once before but he got back in for whatever reason.
Oh by far my worse teacher was last year
He was an extremist right wing cunt that just looked at infowars all day long and complained about obama.
He just handed out packets and told us to research things in the book. My faith in humanity was lowered even more when all the preppy blond mormon teens agreed with everything he said and it was just a big fucking circle jerk of ignorance based on lies and complete misinformation.
I slept every day in that class because I wanted it to be over, I am proud I failed.
These kind of people exist guys, it's not just an over-generalized stereotype. There are literally people this stupid and ignorant teaching FUCKING SCHOOLS.

Making your students fail at math 101: Denying use of calculators
Like what the shit, I've used calculators all my life and never shown my work. After a while they start grading your homework based on if you showed your work or not.
Fucking tests, I want to use calculators so I don't spend 3 years on a single problem because the teacher decided to make the problem long as fuck.

If you can't finish a problem in a timely manner without a tool, then there is a good chance you don't understand the concepts around that problem.

No I can do it, it's just that why should I have to waste time on one problem? They always tell you to skip it, but what good does that do? You just have to go back to it again and have to go through the mind numbing process still
