Now if only it could print with steel or a better durable, temperature resistant & conductive compound that doesn't expand or shrink too much due to the effects of temperature.
If the Chinese got a hold of this...
Mass producing would triple. Profit. :l
Cheap labor, increasing. Oh dear.
You will see those "Made In China" labels a lot more often once this kind of printer arrives there. Throw the McDonald's toys in there. Just a million of those printers. Ohmygawd...
Yeah except a 3d printer is a several thousand dollar investment, the material that it builds crap out of is expensive, and it's slow. You use a 3d printer for prototypes, not full mass production.
I want to see a large scale usage of this, someone print out a small house or something with plumbing and everything, that would be really cool.
(or really bad, make the grand majority of the construction industry redundant)
So I guess with a 3D printer, printing out action figures would be really easy. You could sell custom made action figures for really cheap. And unlike most websites that do the whole 'custom action figure of your wow character' thing, you could actually let the person pick any game the character is from, considering you wouldnt need special machines or molds per game. All you would need is a decent painter.
Wow. I don't get how it scans parts beneath what is visible or the parts of the wrench that aren't immediately visible and prints it out to work as it should.
Should have printed a hammer and hit things with it.
The engineering college that I'm going to next year is getting this soon, Can't wait to use it

I find it pretty baffling that people are just finding out about these, they have been around for such a long time - you can even buy your own for like $1000 (obviously not one that prints working mechanisms in colour though)
I'd print my own dick then sell it as a dildo.
Then you can use it. This brings a whole new meaning to "go fuck yourself".

There's miniature ones you can buy for like 300$, which print objects up to like 10cm cubed, AFAIK

I watched one print a chess piece a few years ago.
I remember seeing commercials for these a few years ago. Awesome shit.
These are just awesome.

Think how an MRI scanner works, it builds it up in layers, or you could think scooby doo sandwich...
I wonder if it would be possible one day, to print a fully functioning human. Then again, that's less printing technology, and more about cloning technology.

Grow a new dick!
If i'm not wrong there is a printer that can print human organs.
They showed one of these things in Science of the Movies, they made an action figure with one.
I'd make tons of them to have my own worthless collection to hang around my room
Gordon Freeman action figure anyone?

I'd start an online shop that makes action figures for peoples personal game characters.
Minecraft guys with custom skins, peoples WOW characters, TF2 classes with specific weapons, and clothing.
Free highly detailed action figure from any game:
Export model from game.
Import into printing program.
Print.
That place is like a little over hour away from my house.
I want them to print me a Rolex watch.
I cant wait for the day, when having a 3D printer is as common as TV's
what an ugly sweater
