This Breaking Bad tribute will remind you of just how thrilling the series was
Everyone I know who's watched this has told me to watch it, and looking at this thread it's a fucking good show. I watched the tribute, and even never having seen the show, damn that was good. I've seen tidbits, and I watched a good bit of the episode where a black guy blows up from the sidelines. I just have trouble deciding "Okay, I'll dedicate a bunch of time to watching this show", because there will be no just watching one episodes, I'll end up binging on it in big chunks of "just one more".
That said I'll have to get into it sometime soon. I feel like I could use a good, well-written show right now, and it sounds like that's just what this is.
I was never a fan of TV shows but after a lot of people which I know have good taste told me I have to watch it I did.
And what can I say, now I'm sitting here with my Los Pollos Hermanos shirt eagerly waiting for Better Call Saul.
Seriously just watch it you won't regret it.

I like this one
Breaking bad is truly amazing, and I'm absolutely happy with how it ended. I'd give the show a perfect 10/10 easily, without hesitating.
I felt season 1 was boring but looking back on it I now know it was the foundation stages, laying down everything so the next seasons all make sense and expand
Season 5 was nothing but a thrill to watch, I couldn't stop watching it I was watching episode to episode because it was just so fucking great
season 1 through 5 were all pretty great
the first seasons of every good show is almost always going to be worse than the rest, which is a shame that people judge a full show purely based on its first episodes.
except maybe, with heroes, for some people I guess
Really glad I was there for the ride, as much as waiting week to week on those goddamn amazing cliffhangers sucked I am REALLY GLAD I was able to be there for the ending and not have it spoiled, amazing show
Haven't watch this because I rarely watch TV series (mostly because I can't stand having to constantly follow tv shows, even worse when there's shitload of seasons) So what makes breaking bad stands out from the rest, like LOST? I want to watch it, but I just wanted to know what makes this so damn good compared to others.

Just watch it
Not the sort of thing that can be easily explained

The main thing that sticks out for me is the way the plot in the series can change on a dime, but never feels like a surprise twist. No real shocking twist cliffhangers that are typical for drama shows, everything in Breaking Bad - while being very sudden at times - seems to happen as it's meant to.
I feel like that element made it a truly unpredictable series, and that made it absolutely riveting to watch.
There's also the constant state of tension which makes me happy I didn't watch it as it was showing on TV. I probably would have died from stress waiting to see what happens after episodes like Crawl Space and Dead Freight.

Season 1 just didn't have me, I was kinda like "What's with all the commotion about this show if it is like THIS", but I decided to give Season 2 a spin and then I was like "Now I know"
From Season 2 onwards IMO the show was outrageously terrific, only episode I didn't like was "Fly" and skipped it because it was just a filler episode, even though it linked to a few other episodes
Im a couple episodes in Season 5 at the moment but man, everything is so stale and slow compared to what happened in Season 4. Granted its important build up but its just so pointless to me it seems, like what the Hell Walter [sp]You killed Gus, what else do you want[/sp]
Everything.

[sp]It showed that Walter is greedy, uncontrollable, all he wants is money and the production of his product to continue despite all that's happened. It's only till the end where he realises it meant nothing and it was just for him[/sp]

I felt that Season 2 was quite slow in parts compared to the first. Also, I enjoyed Fly because it's just 45 minutes of Walt and Jesse's weird relationship. I expected it to be slow and stale but was pleasantly surprised. Character building!
That was really good, very few shows have remained as consistently good as Breaking Bad.
Speaking of amazing tribute videos, this one moved me to tears when I first watched it.

Hearing some of the monologues from early episodes show how tight the overall arc of the story is.
Like, when you watch the last season, the beginning of the show seems like a million years ago, but when you go back and see some of the early scenes, it suddenly feels like it was all laid out at once.
