From my experience it's because people who play CSGO are very picky. The Negev is known for just being spray and pray.
If you have decent recoil control, it's not only fairly accurate, you don't even have to reload!
Because of the nature of the gun however and the fact that you can achieve a similar result without buying the most expensive gun in the game, people assume you're bad/lucky when you do well with it.
Shoot it in 3-4 round bursts, easy recoil control when you do that.
Treat it like an AK you never need to reload.
What a scrub, not holding down the trigger and controlling the stream.

In CS:S there was the community: a bunch of competitive players who play CS:S and 'the community': a bunch of morons with laptops that played surf and dm all day.

The shield would be awesome considering that AWPs, Negevs and Grenades are used alot.

Could just be the matchmaking working. Your troubles with the AWP in earlier renditions of the game was probably being outskilled by people way better than you.

Whenever you play a game for the first time the invisible dice of fate are rolled and they determine your minimum and maximum level of skill for that game (with a +/-5 modifier based on past experience).

Honestly I wouldn't even mind if they made rifles penetrate the shield and do reduced damage. It'd still be fucking cool to have in CSGO

If you start using one it's almost written in stone that the chat will be filled with the likes of "autosniper, really? -_-" because most people have the courtesy not to buy them.

People only say that because only scrubs complain about the autosniper and get destroyed by it. It's just disrespectful to buy one because it implies the other team is bad.
