I know that quantum chromodynamics doesn't actually have anything to do with electroplating, but that's what it sounds like and that's why I think everyone at CERN is a STUPID FILTHY CLOWN OF A FUCK.
whoa. you're really good at observational humor. damn. whoa.

Ha ha, maybe I should apply that crappy joke about cheese culture I heard when I was four to the subject of rape by swappin' some words around, while also expecting it to be an intelligent and entirely serious talking point and stunning display of my impeccable logical chops. I think I'll turn the tide against tumblr with this astonishing humdinger!
Please stop laughing guys, I actually think this!

So you're not going to backpedal out of this by feigning retardation? Well, props for actually admitting you're stupid I guess.
Could someone actually define rape culture for me? From what I gather, I think it's supposed to be a broad summary about people who commit it, people who make jokes about it, and people who support it, but I'm not sure.

I seriously don't get what you're talking about, I was being 100% serious in the original post.

That's pretty much it. It's also about cultures who "glorify" rape (which isn't even a thing that happens but apparently rape jokes = glorifying rape)

Hmm. I don't think making a rape joke necessarily supports rape, just makes the topic less serious. If I were to make a dead baby joke, I wouldn't be supporting miscarriages or child murder. Perhaps you can say these jokes aren't very socially accepted (aka dark humour), but that doesn't necessarily make them supportive of crime.
In my opinion.
These loose definitions are bullshit. If the western society was a real patriarchy, women wouldn't be able to hold any power. But if you look at http://www.ipu.org/wmn-e/classif.htm you would see that countries with western countries have a high percentage of females in the government:
Sweden 45.0%, Finland 42.5%, South Africa 40.8%, Iceland 39.7%, Spain 39.7%, Norway 39.6%, Belgium 39.3%, Denmark 39.1%, Netherlands 38.7%, Argentina 36.6%, Germany 36.5%, New Zealand 33.9%, Costa Rica 33.3%, Slovenia 33.3%, Austria 32.2%, Italy 31.4%, etc,etc,etc...
Just look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_government
No one is holding women back to go into politics. No one is telling women that they can't go into politics. A patriarchy would never allow a female presidential candidate or even a female leader. A patriarchy would never allow women to become a CEO of a company. Where are all these invisible barriers that hold women down?
you're basically the most honest example of a red piller that i've seen on this forum. 99 percent of what you do is composed of ignoring people and shaming others
oh, and the sheer amount of threads you make:

hahaha what the fuck did this kid just get rejected by his high school crush or what
tbh "rape culture" is a stupid fucking term, because the first thing I think of when people say "rape culture" is rapists setting up their own houses and trust funds and having art galleries and talking about rape casually in cafés.
I know that's not what it means, but that's what it sounds like and that's why I think anyone who uses the term is stupid.
You're supposedly nineteen, stop talking like a middle-schooler.
So what if someone were to have a rape fetish? Is that part of rape culture or

What people do consensually in their bedrooms has no relevance whatsoever to what's being discussed here
So what if someone were to have a rape fetish? Is that part of rape culture or
"rape fetish" isn't a real thing tho. You're thinking of hardcore BDSM and shit like that, and to live out that fantasy you need to have a partner and you both need to give consent and know what the fuck you're doing.
And if you want examples of why rape culture is a thing, you've got them.
http://gawker.com/5991003/cnn-reports-on-the-promising-future-of-the-steubenville-rapists-who-are-very-good-students
(gawker, sorry)
"Incredibly difficult, even for an outsider like me, to watch what happened as these two young men that had such promising futures, star football players, very good students, literally watched as they believed their lives fell apart...when that sentence came down, [Ma'lik] collapsed in the arms of his attorney...He said to him, 'My life is over. No one is going to want me now.' Very serious crime here, both found guilty of raping the sixteen-year-old girl at a series of parties back in August."

"Sixteen-year-olds just sobbing in court, regardless of what big football players they are, they still sound like sixteen-year-olds...what's the lasting effect, though, on two young men being found guilty in juvenile court of rape, essentially?"
"The most severe thing with these young men is being labeled as registered sex offenders. That label is now placed on them by Ohio law...That will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Employers, when looking up their background, will see that they're registered sex offenders. When they move into a new neighborhood and somebody goes on the Internet, where these things are posted, neighbors will know that they are registered sex offenders."
Look, grown people defending a bunch of scumbag highschool students after they raped some 16 year old girl, saying that their lives are over as if they're the goddamn victims here. These adult morons are downplaying the severity of their actions because... "hey.... they're sex offenders now! oh woe is me, what did they do to deserve this?"
That's what makes up rape culture.
And just so some of you guys won't go "but what about men," laughing at men who get raped is also a big aspect of rape culture. Which can be things such as, but not limited to, saying that men can't be raped because men are stronger than women, joking around about men getting raped in prison, using "rape" as a synonym to "owned" or "destroyed," and my absolute favorite is when people go "haha... nice... you had sex with an older teacher while you were a kid! (thanks south park for inadvertently spawning a generation of idiot teens who took the satire of that one episode seriously)
[editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
and if some of you guys are so adamant on defending your right to use rape jokes
sure, use rape jokes all you want, but realize that they're pretty much never funny and contribute to the entire victim-blaming culture we've got going on
[editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
ah fuc ki can't belive i forgot to add the typical "what were you wearing?" response that people love to whip out when rape happens
that's kind of a given though

Ah okay gotcha. So it's basically people who defend or downplay the idea and actions of rape, and it's severity. And true, while rape jokes don't exactly support the crime, there are instances where it belittles the victim, there's a time and a place for everything and this place isn't the profile page of the victim :p
[sp]And my hardcore BDSM fetish is safe, phew[/sp]
