lmao how the line was endless in 2007 but it's only a couple people a decade later
I swear to Christ if Samsung pulls a Google and removes the headphone jack in their newest phone, I'll go insane. This asinine trend of removing the headphone jack needs to die. If not, then I'm never buying the newest phones ever again, even if they are superior in every other way compared to my current phone.
its a leak but i'll be very surprised if they don't ditch aux
There were a substantial amount of leaks from reputable leakers regarding the s8 and note 8 that were horrifically wrong. It wasn't until the literal last month and 2 weeks from release that any leaks that got out were actually accurate. Hell most of the leaks for the note 8 still were reporting the cameras on the back to be mounted vertically even when they phone was like 3 1/2 weeks from shipping. I honest to god would be flabbergasted if they got rid of the aux jack. In fact samsung still REALLY showcases their audio capabilities by always hard coding in very customizable equalizers in their phones and using some very lovely preamps/amps built directly into the phone and have for years. They also package their phones with a pair of In ear Monitor earbuds from AKG (Which is a very well known producer of sound equipment and notably nice headphones) for free. Braided cable and all. https://www.soundguys.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-akg-headphones-review-12054/ I REALLY doubt they'd go all out with the audio like they've been for years, especially this year with giving away free sets of fairly decent and well built IEM earbuds and having always packaging their devices with an equalizer on device only to rip it away for bullshit design choices.
Isn't that exactly what Google did?
There is literally no reason to remove the headphone jack from a phone other than to get a big cheque. For example, the LG V30, who also made the Pixel 2 XL, has a smaller body with the exact same size screen but somehow by the grace of god managed to squeeze in that huge headphone jack. also did you ever wonder why the dongles are so expensive? it's because these phones don't even have a DAC in them any more, so they need to build one in to the dongle. And apparently the one that ships with the Pixel 2 gets hot as fuck. sorry this just really annoys me
I kind of just want to see a Samsung/Huawai/whatever ad that's just a 20 second slow-mo, Matrix-spin-around shot of a 3.5mm plug sliding into a headphone jack
Hahaha the iPhone X notch on the guys head. Why didn't they just do it with paint or something and not a video effect? It looks so wonky as the camera pans around him.

They filmed the dude looking at him as is maybe just as a way to have that disconnect between the still applefanboy and the former who 'grew up' kinda like he's looking at him like 'i was one of them' cause the whole 'grow up' thing they got going on in the video. Then right before they actually roll this someone thinks of adding in the notch bit and they hastily wip it up with effects which would explain the wobbly aspect.
Watch them ditch aux next year too. Just like Google, they talk shit but will immediately follow suit.
It has already been rumored, but take it with a good grain of salt.
lmao how the line was endless in 2007 but it's only a couple people a decade later
That's somewhat accurate, if I'm not mistaken.
That's somewhat accurate, if I'm not mistaken.
Very accurate. I know "news people" have been trying to interview customers waiting for the iPhone 8 here, and they interviewed staff from the stores instead, because there was no queue at all.
I don't know how it works with other carriers, but with AT&T I haven't gone into an apple store to pick up my phone ever. I just go to the AT&T booth at Costco, there are never any lines. Mostly since now with these 2 year renewal contracts for leased phones you just have to wait till the two year mark.
I've always leaned towards Samsung for one major reason. Every phone I've had since my first smartphone has used micro usb to charge. I always had this smug look on my face when I see people who have various IPhones struggle to see who has which charge port of the week. Also I've never liked any of Apple's OSs for anything they make and IPhones are no exception.
:goodjob:
They actually want the world to adjust to their phone by giving everybody specific CSS changes so it can display on the iPhone X correctly. https://webkit.org/blog/7929/designing-websites-for-iphone-x/ Guess making it just work fine with any page was too hard, so everybody else has to change. :v: Also fun advert, I'm surprised they can get away with it with so many Apple logos shown.
Watch them ditch aux next year too. Just like Google, they talk shit but will immediately follow suit.
they ditched microsd and brought it back, same goes for water resistance, then they found out that consumers really love their phones for those features. I believe Samsung would not remove the headphone jack

I wonder how this is going to affect game dev on iPhone X.
Are they allowed to just have the apple logo in that ad?
Yeah. Big companies diss each other all the time. It's a tactic that creates a mindset/illusion that Samsung and Apple, Coca-Cola and Pepsi, etc, are the only two real choices.
Because that notch out of the iPhoneX display is fucking retarded. https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/14/16306298/apple-iphone-x-screen-notch
i get why it has the notch but its just stupid it looks like shit for 1% extra screen to body ratio, the original mi mix actually has a higher ration without a notch
what does the 2015 part mean? Is it a metaphor or what, coz I don't see any problem with queuing in rain.
Web-development just got even worse.
Safari has a lot of Apple-specific web features, e.g. Force Touch/3D Touch gestures, trackpad gestures, pinned tab icons (which are essentially monochrome favicons). Wouldn't surprise me if there is or will be something to customize the Mac Touch Bar through JS
I guess that's a fair design choice, but I still don't fucking get why they had to put a notch there. Like those two and a half square centimeters add anything to the screen when there's a black notch there.
The argument is that at least you can put the status bar up there - so you're actually adding maybe 4mm times the width of the screen in real estate. Not much, but it's something; though the way they did the browser wastes more than it gained, it'd seem.
In my opinion the commercial missed the biggest offender from apple by far, it's shitty apple ID recovery system. Why in the fuck do people have to wait nearly a month for apple to recover their apple ID when they never even forgot the password in the first place? Apple sometimes refuses to allow you to sign in with you legitimate password, it keeps telling you it's wrong and then locks you out. When you go to recover, it gives you the bloody code run around until it prompts you to do a recovery through apple which "only takes a few days", where in reality it takes weeks. It's happened to me so many times. Samsung really missed an opportunity there to bring an actual issue to light.
what does the 2015 part mean? Is it a metaphor or what, coz I don't see any problem with queuing in rain.
the two people next to him have their phones out because they're water resistant and his isn't also there's an android app that adds the notch to any phone so you too can experience what it feels like to be an idiot
Alternatively get the Essential or any other notch phone. The thing I don't get is why he had an older iPhone without water resistance (or wireless charging).
Alternatively you can get the Essential phone or some other one with a notch.
there's an app for that too
To be fair, every review I've read about phones with a notch has said that it's really easy to get used to. I don't think the X is worth it overall, but I find the notch alright during the wait for better tech. Some weirdos even like it.
