I don't really see how just removing regulations streamlines or simplifies in a positive way. What determines what regulations can be removed and who gets to decide which ones? At the very least I could see it being used like riders as a way to make sure something will never pass by making the only way to pass it is to kill something else that people would never want killed.
I'd much rather have a targeted effort to streamline and consolidate than some token law that seems made purely to appeal to the small government crowd.
I think it's cool that such a message can be officially delivered pretty directly from the source without being editorialized and edited by whatever news agency.
