People who make these games are generally elitists who look down on their audience and other people in general.
This reminds me of the dev of Braid While it was well received he pretty much found any blog or forum post to correct them about how they didn't understand the games vision or some shit. I guess I don't have what it takes to be indie
Is that Merle Dandridge that's voicing the main character? Sounds awfully similar if not.

I remember hearing he has really bad anxiety and has problems with people misunderstanding him or something.
The game received near universal praise by the games media. What went wrong?
The game just flat out wasn't good enough for the people who you know paid their money for it. I wanted to try it and play it but I didn't like the idea of my cash going to people like that.

He knows his shit when it comes to actual game design and programming. And while he got onto people for "not understanding his vision", at least he wasn't telling those people to "choke on his dick." When a gamedev deliberately insults their audience (and yes, the audience includes people who don't like your game), that's when they cross the line. You can be like Garry and tout the line by sarcastically poking at them, but once you say something harsh and direct like "choke on my dick", you've lost any respect you'd had beforehand. The reason why Phil Fish became so infamous is not because he's an asshole, it's because he directly fueled the fire that was burning beneath him. There are plenty of gamedevs who are assholes, it's a stressful job. The difference is most don't go around shitting on their audience.
So now Moorhead is even more pissed. He recently tweeted "Jim made a video trashing my work. I felt as though he misrepresented my position on refunds. I tried to ask politely for clarification.", to which Jim DID clarify by saying he was basing his perspective off of this (which is totally fucking fair on Jim's point, there's no misinterpreting that) And now Moorhead is blaming Jim for sending abuse his way, which is something Jim hasn't done and always taken a hard-line stance against.
