i cant wait to drive up and down the I-5 over and over
Are the landscapes more varied than euro? Euro was very repetitive level design
Should I get a wheel set for these type of games? I mean I've wanted to get one for forza for a long time but if ya guys do suggest it then I'll grab one as soon as I can.
According to this video review
All though I haven't played many of these games in a while, when I do play things like ARMA 3 Altis Life, I always find myself driving cargo along dark highways, listening to the radio, and sometimes I grab some resources while doing my cargo routes... It just feels simple. Sometimes it's stressful, but most of the time you feel right at home.
I did that on flight simulator once. Nine hours from Hong Kong to Calgary.
Longest I did was Anchorage to Seattle. And then my computer bluescreened on final approach. [editline]30th January 2016[/editline]
Are the landscapes more varied than euro? Euro was very repetitive level design
I thought it had some pretty cool terrain. Took this pic because it was interesting scenery.
It's the American southwest, though, so be prepared for almost limitless boredom. Took this pic because it was interesting scenery.
My boyfriend and I traveled from San Fransisco to Phoenix, it was literally mind numbing. At a certain point I was just laughing at and making fun of the desert because I was so bored.
Are the landscapes more varied than euro? Euro was very repetitive level design
Have you ever been on I80 or Nevada state routes 93/50/95? "Repetitive level design" would be a realistic experience. [editline]30th January 2016[/editline] A trip from northeastern Nevada to Yuma, Arizona was like 13 hours of absolutely nothing.
It's relaxing.
Unless you try to play it like me and speed everywhere and try to make your way through tiny gaps, as well as attempting to drift it... :v:
I don't understand how someone can genuinely enjoy this type of game. It's really cool that they've made an entire faux California, but I don't get it.
I thought the same until I tried Euro Truck Simulator 2. It's relaxing, entertaining and rewarding in a sort of weird, but really good way
ETS2 is my zen game. When Im stressed out I hop on it and relax. Though some times I've fallen asleep while playing because I stare straight ahead a lot.
One of the coolest parts of trucking is the radio though. You know what this needs to be? An MMO. All drivers are other people, everyone is on virtual radio.
And you get players to make radio shows for the virtual radios?
All though I haven't played many of these games in a while, when I do play things like ARMA 3 Altis Life, I always find myself driving cargo along dark highways, listening to the radio, and sometimes I grab some resources while doing my cargo routes...
Or on the weekends in my case, a DUI simulator. I'm still in the midst of a delivery I left parked on the highway with half of the goods I'm carrying damaged. I just don't feel like going back and finishing it just to break even. :v:
One time I was playing ETS2 while extremely tired. I kept falling asleep while driving, only to wake up a few seconds later heading down the wrong side of the road. At one point, I fell asleep, woke up as I was about to plow into oncoming traffic, and forgot I was playing a simulator. I seriously thought I had just committed manslaughter.
I used to cheat kinda because my cheap ass trucks could never go over 50MPH so I would floor it going down hills, get up to 88MPH and slam cruise control on so I could maintain that speed. The issue was I would never want to turn off cruise control because I'd loss that speed so I'd leave it on when I really needed to use the brakes like while going through Swiss mountains and rural winding roads and flip my truck.
I've played 18 Wheels of Steel back in the day on my machine that had a Pentium IV, with Intel Extreme Graphics 2. While everyone was playing the latest games on PC, I played these type of games. Shit gets intense in the cities when you are trying to cut through several cars trying to make the delivery on time and then you hit a cop car.
my nigga. I played the shit out of that and Hard Truck 2 on my 650MHz PIII with a matrox G400. Ran smoove HT2 doesn't work on GHz+ processors last I tried, everything is warpspeed :(
I did that on flight simulator once. Nine hours from Hong Kong to Calgary.
My grandfather has tome upon tome of flight logs from xplane, he'll just leave it running all day as he makes his passenger routes. I figure its therapeutic
why does he mention the ability to turn right on red? are europeans not allowed to make a right turn at an intersection when there is a red light?
Nope we're not allowed to do that here in the uk, i mean you could try it but you'd get fined lol
why does he mention the ability to turn right on red? are europeans not allowed to make a right turn at an intersection when there is a red light?
The USA is the only place I've driven where that is legal to do. Was about to say that they should make an Australian truck simulator, then realized that'd be really dull because flat land, no civilization and straight roads for thousands of kms :v:
why does he mention the ability to turn right on red? are europeans not allowed to make a right turn at an intersection when there is a red light?
Here you usually get an additional green arrow that lights up when the light is red but it's safe to turn
Should I get a wheel set for these type of games? I mean I've wanted to get one for forza for a long time but if ya guys do suggest it then I'll grab one as soon as I can.
If you've got the cash to spend, absolutely.
Was about to say that they should make an Australian truck simulator, then realized that'd be really dull because flat land, no civilization and straight roads for thousands of kms :v:
this is the scenery i already expect in this game
Was about to say that they should make an Australian truck simulator, then realized that'd be really dull because flat land, no civilization and straight roads for thousands of kms :v:
Nah mate fuckin roadtrains. Quadtrailer trailer 150ton lorry just blazin across the outback. And once a while you'd have to avoid the roos. That'll keep you awake.
They should do an Indian Truck Simulator. Might means right.
I hope it still has the ridiculous customization options. [t]http://i.imgur.com/IVGUW34.jpg[/t]
Isn't the voice in the trailer the hammy voice actor who did the main character in Arma 2?
Isn't the voice in the trailer the hammy voice actor who did the main character in Arma 2?
enemy TRUCK 400 meters SOUTHWEST
All drivers are other people,
That sounds great in theory, in practice though it's a bit different
Driving in a straight line simulator
Should I get a wheel set for these type of games? I mean I've wanted to get one for forza for a long time but if ya guys do suggest it then I'll grab one as soon as I can.
The main reason I got a G27 is cause of ETS2. It's way better than playing with a keyboard/360.
The main reason I got a G27 is cause of ETS2. It's way better than playing with a keyboard/360.
The steering wheel market is being revived not by racing sims, but by a trucking sim
Are the landscapes more varied than euro? Euro was very repetitive level design
From what I heard I've seen, the eastern map DLC is a huge jump in quality from the initial ETS2 map. Since they now have a better idea of what works, I'm sure the ATS map design will be much improved. Provided that they actually complete their goal of the entire continental US in the next couple years, I imagine it will be crazy diverse.
