how deep will the not at all scary jumpscare-athon cash cow go, scott
As long as people want them. Simple supply and demand people.
I mean he's making bank off of idiots so I can't blame him too much I guess It's just like angry birds
The fucking trailer gave me a stroke, how can you be so fucking terrible at video editing, how does this clown get people to buy his game when he advertises it the worst way.
Ahh yeah. Make the story even more confusing as fuck.
My "theory" is that this guy is good friends with (or stalking) Mat Pat. He waits until theorists "figure it out." Then just for lulz Scottie announces the next title. The money probably doesn't hurt either.
The fucking trailer gave me a stroke, how can you be so fucking terrible at video editing, how does this clown get people to buy his game when he advertises it the worst way.
Because he knows they'll buy it anyway, no matter what
Why is it still called five nights at freddy's if it's set in a house?
Freddy could own a house... I doubt he sleeps in the pizzeria after work, Or could for that matter.
Ahh yeah. Make the story even more confusing as fuck.
Maybe in this one you play as young fan of the freddy series and your over active mind is playing tricks on you? I dunno but I find the setting and theme for this quite charming considering you are a lil' young person and afraid what lingers in the dark.
The fucking trailer gave me a stroke, how can you be so fucking terrible at video editing, how does this clown get people to buy his game when he advertises it the worst way.
One guy shouldnt be good at making games, modeling, texturing, and video and sound editing all together
The font looks really generic, but other than that it seems like an alright change to the formula. Assuming it works out of course.
looks better than 3 at least
One guy shouldnt be good at making games, modeling, texturing, and video and sound editing all together
With the money he has made he could easily build a team
Looks better than 2 and 3 at least, but I'll withhold my enthusiasm until I actually see it in action.
I'd do the same thing the guy making it is doing and milk the shit out of it for MONEY but the fact that people eat it up to the point where it itself is a joke is kinda sad. the fanbase is just shit. I don't think I could ever get into the games myself.
Can't take this franchise seriously I feel like 90% of the players are Pewdiepie fans, or "bros", whatever
4 ga mes i n 1 y e ar beating ubisoft and activision at their own game
First one was a pretty neat indie horror title. The second was eh. The third was awful. Not holding out any hope for this. Not to mention the fanbase is legitimately fucking awful.
4 ga mes i n 1 y e ar beating ubisoft and activision at their own game
And it's only "wrong" if people stop buying it. I hope the man rides the gravy train until it crashes into the station.

My kids at the schools I work at constantly talk about it to the same levels of which they talk about Minecraft. Scott knows his market. He knows they'll buy it regardless because they're kids. Not a bad business move. [editline]13th July 2015[/editline] Honestly, I don't think he's attempting to cater to the older playerbase anymore. Mostly kids, let's players, and the audience of said let's players which is typically the ones who cater to kids like Markiplier and Pewdiepie.
Despite the backlash against the fans and the speed of which these titles have come out, I personally find the whole FNAF phenom to be kinda inspirational as a success story, especially from someone who's trying to be an indie developer himself.
The guy isn't at least phill phish.
The games are simple so seeing them come out only a few months after each other doesn't surprise me. I do think he is milking this though and should just wrap the story up and use his piles of cash to make a new game.
I laughed audibly when the trailer said "Check the closet" and then this dude Is completely static and is just like wassup holmes
That was some laughably lazy and sloppy editing on the text and title cards. But, hey, I highly doubt the target audience cares that much. :v:
Good for Scott, he's got a massive fanbase, but damn. The guy really needs to pace himself. The first 5NAF was only what, less than 1 year ago? Not saying this doesn't have the potential to be good, but it could be a shitload greater if he spent more than a few months on it.

I think he plans on releasing the game earlier than anticipated (again) for whatever reason.
I think he plans on releasing the game earlier than anticipated (again) for whatever reason.
$$$$$$$$$
What I WANT is for an actual fully budgeted team to make a horror game with a concept like this, but Cawthon's making infinite money working basically alone and he has a movie deal anyway, so I doubt he's in a rush. His method of releasing tons of sequels to milk the goldmine he's discovered is understandable considering his long string of failures beforehand, but it's a little disappointing considering how genuinely interesting the first game was as a base concept. It feels like big name horror games have been limited to action horror or amnesia clones for ages, now.
4 ga mes i n 1 y e ar beating ubisoft and activision at their own game
Considering the FNAF games aren't broken apon release and aren't filled with terrible DLC, I'd say that even the FNAF series isn't as terrible as anything as Ubisoft and Activision put out lately.
The first game was pretty fucking unsettling (and legit scary to me, thanks childhood fears) because it hit the uncanny valley so hard. The second one was still somewhat okay, though the puppet master kinda detracted from it from being stereotypical spooky. The third one went overboard with the overdone zombiespook with everything looking so run-down and run-of-the-mill horror. It looks too "bland average horror" and it detracts from it entirely. The fourth is looking like it's on the same level as the third, if not worse. I liked it way better when it just looked like robots run amok.
