Good for Scott, he's got a massive fanbase, but damn. The guy really needs to pace himself. The first 5NAF was only what, less than 1 year ago?
Not saying this doesn't have the potential to be good, but it could be a shitload greater if he spent more than a few months on it.
He's planning on releasing this one (currently anyway) on the same day FNAF1 released last year, as a sort of anniversary.
The first game was pretty fucking unsettling (and legit scary to me, thanks childhood fears) because it hit the uncanny valley so hard.
The second one was still somewhat okay, though the puppet master kinda detracted from it from being stereotypical spooky.
The third one went overboard with the overdone zombiespook with everything looking so run-down and run-of-the-mill horror. It looks too "bland average horror" and it detracts from it entirely. The fourth is looking like it's on the same level as the third, if not worse.
I liked it way better when it just looked like robots run amok.
He also did one of the worst things you can do with horror by explaining everything. At this point in the series, you know basically exactly what's going on, you know what you're up against. That shit ain't scary.
As much as I'm glad that Scott's having the time of his life and I appreciate his passion for making games I do feel upset that he's releasing games too early whether if they're done or not. You're not in a rush or anything, double the content and add some improvements to the concept. Better yet, hire some people to make the core game even better.
I would rather pick a sequel that answered many questions and had as much content than all four combined than have three games launched in a year.
For the amount of money he makes on these games, you'd think he be able to afford something better than Window's Movie maker.
He donates a shitton to, like, his church or something.
At first I thought this was a fanmade trailer made in gmod, esp after seeing the 'five nights at freddy's 4' text come on scream
Man, I thought it was a joke or fan made stuff at first.
That was a really rushed/weak trailer teaser compared to 3

Five Nights at Freddys is the Paranormal Activity of video games
Why the fuck would they spoil jumpscares in a 2 minute trailer
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
The amount of backlash against the game is worse than the fnaf community and I don't even like the game.
You guys are acting as if it has personally offended you, especially MasterFen i mean lol

It's a pretty bad game, but a lot of people here don't get that it's not being made for FP's demographic anymore lol
it's being made for kids b/c that's who makes up the majority of the fanbase/playerbase
like yeah they're bad games but you know who still plays bad games
kids sure do. especially when they only cost 2 dollars on the app store
[editline]14th July 2015[/editline]
kids also don't care about the quality of a trailer.
i mean scott might just be bad at making them (or maybe he just doesn't care anymore) but either way

tbh idk why an honest devout christian would try and market a horror game to young children like do you see how fucked up that could be
The FNaF games aren't inherently bad, just simple and varying wildly in quality per game. The problems are the fanbase, and Scott putting out so many games in just a year that people are already both burnt out and accusing him of cashing in on the children and Youtuber viewbases. Yeah, his whole post-release cash shop idea in the first game crashed and burned real fast, but after that he just stuck to making the games as is.

i mean
as long as it doesn't have anything to do with demons i guess they wouldn't care lmfao
I don't think he meant it literally Fen. It just so happens that the fanbase is kids.
It's like saying Call of Duty is marketed to Kids.
i wouldn't say it's marketed to kids. scott is likely still pretending that it's a game that people of all ages play
but anyone who's anyone knows that the people who play fnaf are young and scott's probably exploiting that without explicitly saying so

I don't understand how FNaF's audience shifted to kids. What do they like about it so much?
I don't understand how FNaF's audience shifted to kids. What do they like about it so much?
PewdiePie, Markiplier and so on made the game even more popular when FNAF 1 was rising. Since both of their audiences are made up of kids and teens it just grew.
tbh idk why an honest devout christian would try and market a horror game to young children like do you see how fucked up that could be
He literally made it out of spite because some ADULT reviewers thought another game he made with robot animals was horrifying and uncanny valley, so he decided to try making a game where he did that on-purpose.
I don't think during any point did he directly market it towards children.
I don't understand how FNaF's audience shifted to kids. What do they like about it so much?
Tbh its probably because it's scary without it being explicitly HORROR. Parents don't think twice because it's cute animals and there's no guns or blood, and kids of this age are well beyond fear of animatronic characters. Typically, anyway. They're old enough to remove themselves from the type of "scary" that it is but not old enough to seek out better horror games.

When you have the likes of pewdiepie, markiplier, yamimash, and smosh games doing the bulk of advertising for the game. Just one video from one of them reaches MILLIONS of viewers who eat their content up. Hey, guess what demographic they reach best? The same one that fnaf is targeting each release. The game is practically streamer/YouTube bait.
I've never played or watched anyone play a FNAF game but I've seen some of the theorys people come up with about the story which are kinda cool
It's being made for kids b/c that's who makes up the majority of the fanbase/playerbase
I shall now raise my kids to play these precious kiddy games about pedophiles doing the micky to kids and then stuffing their remains into homicidal robots that display sadist tendencies.
I can't find it, but I miss the gif of Markiplier crying in the shower about becoming an engineer that someone posted as a response to this announcement.

Markiplier will probably play FNAF 4 but he said in the last video of FNAF3 that there doesn't need to be more.
I like FNAF for the lore, the weevil art, and the fact the Scott finally made it big. This is like every indie developers dream, so maybe once his money pool is large enough he'll get to work on a sequel to The Desolate Hope.
painfully lame
honestly thought the trailer was a joke at first

Yeah that surprised me to to be honest, especially after the pretty good trailers we got for 2 and 3.

It's spooky anthro animals going "BOO" on the player.
