Under The Dome was written in 2009, long after he got sober, with a little over a thousand pages long. He wasn't a good writer because of cocaine, he was a good writer despite the cocaine.

well at least you can remember what you wrote. there's books that he just kind of woke up to one day because he was constantly high for the month or so he was writing them. he took so much cocaine that he essentially traveled through time
This movie was somehow more faithful to the novel than the mini series while also being less faithful.
Jay is completely right when he says that this movie is going to age horribly.
Stephen King has fucked up sex stuff in his books, like in Gunslinger when [sp]Roland sticks his gun barrel up a fat lady's cunt to give her an abortion[/sp]
Or in The Stand when [sp]a midget wakes up the main character by rubbing his boner on his thigh and demanding he jerk him off, then works his gun's barrel up his ass as a threat.[/sp]
Or in The Library Policeman with its [sp]four-page gruesomely-detailed description of a big dicked guy anally raping a little boy.[/sp]
Or how about in Apt Pupil, where a young boy finds a living Nazi war criminal in his town, and wants to learn about Holocaust shit, so the old man tells him and it fucks his brain up. For example, [sp] The book describes the boy's first wet dream, where he is part of a medical experiment on an underage jewish girl, and the old man gives him an electroshock condom and he rapes the girl senseless while she screams.[/sp]
Stephen King has issues.
Stephen King more like Stephen CP :godzing:
Went to see it the day I learned the remake existed. Didn't have any expectations, and enjoyed it for not being a garbage horror movie. The jump scares weren't super cheap, it didn't go for pure shock factor, and it was competently put together.
I get the criticism of it being really safe and not even being scary, but I'm just happy for something that isn't Annabelle Creation.
