Other than Bronies, who wouldn't (generally) see it as gross. After all, the really "HARDCORE" bronies are fucking nightmarsh.
I used to really hate bronies as well until I became friends with some bronies. Rate me dumb all you want, but most of them really aren't that bad. Some of them are definitely fanatic as all hell, but you'll get those kind of fans in any fandom, like Sonic or Homestuck. And I don't really care if they're into a little girl's show, they can like whatever they want. It's not pathetic to me at all.
People who generalize bronies as these pathetic autists who fap to Fluttershy haven't met or spoke to a brony and normally judge them entirely by videos that showcase these kind of people. There are definitely members of the fandom that are like that, but most of them aren't. And this is coming from someone who's entirely indifferent to the show and it's fans.

Of course they would, any fandom has a dark side and I'm sure as hell a lot of people involved in those shows know about it

Imo, Bronies are fine as long as they don't jam their fandom into your face, but the same goes for anything.
