End rant, I guess.
yes i'd agree but only to a certain extent. starcraft 2's scale is much smaller than all of those games and that's kind of a good thing. starcraft 2 is excellent for those short games of 20-30 minutes. if i wanna stay up all night i'd play SupCom or Civ.
and we're not gonna talk about C&C ever. that series is dead to me.
World of Wacraft? This video has lost ALL credibility.
Supreme Commander trumps the fuck out of every RTS game's scale out there.
Mostly true, but their is one game that rivals SupCom in scale though.
Why wasn't C&C on there? It introduced RTS.

You can huff and puff all you want, WoW shaped the western MMO genre dramatically.
I feel like playing who complain about Starcraft have never actually played the game long enough or seriously in multiplayer.
It has a balance and competitiveness the likes of which I still haven't seen in any other RTS.
To be fair the original Call of Duty should have been on the list, the amount of hours spent on that on rifles only servers with my friends was insane.
AND.....it was a good game, generally i agree with most of the list though.
Even though it's all opinion, I enjoyed this list. Maybe not the order of the games, but they are all awesome. I don't play WoW or LoL but know plenty of people who love them.

Oh, do tell.

Except that the problem. It's almost clockwork in the way it plays out. Competition is little more than hotkey muscle memory, no actual strategy or even tactics (Oh RTT, where hath thou development went to?). There is no adaptation, no imagination, just [del]Worst Koreans[/del] the same thing over and over again.
I do realize that it's much deeper than that, but it's something that is arguably unavailable to most people out there, who do not tend to take every step and precaution to enter into the game competitively. For the rest of us, there is Halo Mass Defense xXx2012xXx.
Agred with most people on the UT choice. I would have put UT2004 or UT99 inplace of UT2003. 2003 was shit in comparison to those 2.
The single disappointment I can find in UT2004 is they kept the Assault Rifle from 2003, and didnt return the Enforcers, arguarbly the most popular weapon in 99. Sure, mods bring them back, but they shouldnt have to.

Total Annihilation. The spiritual predecessor to SupCom.
Total Annihilation. The spiritual predecessor to SupCom.
Spiritual pre/successor thing aside, the scale and scope of both conflicts is very close in size (aka, tremendous when compared to other games).

Not to mention both TA and SC both have very high unit caps. Which is great.
Top 10 Multiplayer PC Games and every year is included?
You can't actualy do that.
Solitaire then should have been 1st then.
Pfft, Solitare.
Reversi is where it's at, man.
Where was my command and conquer :suicide:
And what followed in its wake is a bunch of cookie cutter mmo's such as rift and SWTOR.
Well yeah that tends to happen when you become a cultural phenomenon.
Surprised that Worms: Armageddon made it, let alone over Battlefield 2.
Well yeah that tends to happen when you become a cultural phenomenon.
A bunch of cookie cutter mmo's that were shit. Save maybe SWTOR and EVE.
the way he said lol
that was unexpected
I love team fortress but counter strike deserved that one spot. I don't even really like it but I know it had way more of an effect on gaming then tf2.

not at all. i don't know how you've been playing the game but beyond the beginner circuit the game relies on quick thinking and adaptation to strategy. sure there are the super-cheese moves but any player who's learned how the simple game works can counter-act it.
League of Legends? Really?
It's the most popular MOBA on the market right now, so it's not a big surprise.

Yeah the original or even at the very least United Offensive (or both for one spot) should have made the list and replaced mine craft. Not having it on there was stupid.
I quite like how this list was accurate according to Facepunch's opinion, besides a few errors, but all within the same series (UT/Quake).

TF2 generated a massive impact in popular culture and raised the bar a goddamn mile for Free to Play games. It also is the most successful instance of Valve's "Videogames as a service" model, being updated and changed constantly.
The list could have had a little "Games are in no particular order" disclaimer, though, that'd have made everyone happy.
