Honestly the message should be 'Poor lives matter', so many blacks in poverty resort to crime because of the culture poverty creates, and that's just not a skin colour issue, it's an economic issue. People just tryna make it a race issue.
It's both. A lot of blacks are poor, and you can even hear him in the song say that people just assume that black people are poor and can be pushed around because there isn't anything they can do about it.
Even neutral observers know BLM is a shit/lost cause group so I don't think appearing unbiased will change that.
I think I rather be real and honest than try to put on some facade of being unbiased. Do I dislike BLM? Yep. Do I need to like BLM to validate that Ice T and gang doing a heavy metal political song with that cinematography just comes off as edgy? I don't think so. The video could have been about Pro gun Rights and it would still be edgy and cringey.
Maybe you should work on not outright dismissing people's opinions on the presentation of a video because of their political stances.
The only thing cringey here is your overuse of the word.
I don't have a problem with the message they are trying to get across but I feel like their are more intelligent & entertaining (it is music after all) ways to go about it. Like artists like Mos Def, Tupac, Immortal Technique etc. have done.
Mathematics by Mos Def is one of my favorite songs not only because I think it genuinely sounds great, it's got a good beat and the way he flows just sounds good to me. But the subject matters it covers too; surveillance, oppression, multiplicity of perspectives and plenty of other small details. I don't think the message this song is trying to get across is bad, I just think the execution is but that is just to my tastes, I'm not going to crucify anyone for liking it themselves.
Racists are by and large not intelligent though, that's like an integral part of racism; blaming/hating others for your own/your society's failures because you aren't smart enough to take a step back and see the actual problems.
Having clever hidden messages is great, and I don't disagree that it comes across as a much better message that way, but in most cases the message is lost on the people who actually need to hear it.
i expected gangster rap but was blown away by this awesome shit
don't know why, this is a pretty basic body count track. it's like being surprised that rage against the machine isn't gangster rap

You didn't specify in your original post that the video itself was what you were criticizing and given your post history you shouldn't be too surprised people would assume you meant the whole thing including the music/message.
I don't go out of my way to listen to anything that isn't electronic but I really liked the song and video.
Even neutral observers know BLM is a shit/lost cause group so I don't think appearing unbiased will change that.
Replace BLM with literally anything and this statement works.
Lol, ideologue much when I'm just saying the artistic presentation is edgy as fuck?
I actually wish I had an agenda.
Then I might actually put more effort into things with plans and contingencies. :v:
Friend, you have said in the past that you see yourself as balancing the narrative on FP by posting news ("""news""") that otherwise wouldn't be posted. You have an agenda that is clear as day to anyone who posts on FP.
Which is fine, many, many users also have an agenda behind the shit they post in SH and the videos section, but don't try to play it off like you don't.

Most people might be familiar with Ice T's rap stuff and not Body Count.
Wait people actually like this? It sounds really fucking boring and bad.

I don't agree with 90% of what you say on this forum but honestly people are giving you shit for no reason than they don't like your political stances. It's very petty and it sucks that people resort to this. I agree that this video is lame/edgy/cringey.
And I love hardcore music and Im' not against BLM or anything.
BLM is hardly different from other political groups. Do people bitch about the tens of thousands liberals peacefully marching on, e.g., that women's March day a few weeks ago, or do they bitch about the shit heads rioting at UC Berkeley over Milo?
The worst of the BLM group is pretty bad, but consider how emotional this topic can be for members of the black community. Some of them have probably lost family members to police shootings, and whether or not its justified in reality it probably isn't in their reality (and the same would apply to any of us if one of our loved ones was shot, probably)

Appreciate the recognition of that. I seriously love heavy metal and the idea someone is telling me my opinion doesn't count earlier is hilarious when I wasn't even really touching the political message.
This shit ain't know tasteful SOAD or Serj Tankian political piece. It is just lazy garbage.

Literally anyone with a interest in politics has an agenda. The very act of trying to persuade person with points requires a plan of action that can always construed as an agenda.
You saying I have on just looks continuously idiotic and vilifying as if I am some evil genius.

Why is it lazy or in bad taste? Is it just because it is overt with its politics? Because it doesn't bother to pretend that other peoples' opinions matter to them?
Prison Song is practically the same delivery of a similar topic so I'm not sure how you can call this edgy or overly political but not that.

You're being snarky but they have been criticized in the past. I should have specified political group.

I don't think you are an evil genius I just think you have an agenda, so I'm confused with the combative tone when you outright admit you have an agenda, after saying you "wish you had one", implying you didn't.
I think people are assuming your criticism comes from political as opposed to artistic reasons because "this seems cringey" is the laziest way to criticize something without actually criticizing it. It's not even close to cringey nor particularly edgy. It's actually pretty boring, standard recording and cinematography for music in it's style. It's nothing like SOAD because it wasn't meant to be.
Prison Song is practically the same delivery of a similar topic so I'm not sure how you can call this edgy or overly political but not that.
Yah, but Prison Song is actually;
1. Sounds Amazing
2. Doesn't have shit statistics in it
3. Offers an actual solution.
Grade A Political song right there.
poor white people that they call trash

this shit is deeper than racism
I would have been on board from the start if BLM was about this but everyone took the race bait and drove people away. I think there's white males out there only avoiding BLM because they get lumped in with the institution like it's their fault.
