why make new games when you can just release the old game on the slightly better console. In pc gaming we call this an update. And its free.
Is this serious
I have never seen a 12 year old game being released for free on PC. I have never seen a game simply released for free, forever as an update.

Bioshock and Bioshock 2 got a free update to a new engine on PC.

Yeah, ported assets over to a new engine. Lilterally mostly a copy paste job. This is built mostly from the ground back up. It's not just a port of the old game onto a new engine.

They are not remakes. Just remasters. And they made some things worse from the original.

in PC gaming we still call it a remaster and you still have to pay for it

I could go on and on
You know It's really telling how absolutely on-point the art direction is.
You know that shit's good when you can re-build every single asset in the game using modern techniques and standards and it ends up looking pretty much the same.
If they added the cut colossi into the game it would be a really big reason to get this. Besides that I don't really see why I don't just play the PS3 Remake.

I can maybe see this appealing to people new to the game entirely. The generation of gamers that started after ps2 or even ps3 might be interested to play this but not want to go and grab a ps3 or 2 to play it or want to deal with the non 'next gen' graphics.

The PS3 remake has the framerate upgraded to 60 fps. Normally this would be a good thing, but Shadow of the Colossus ties a lot of the stamina mechanics to the framerate. Specifically your stamina loss rate is higher at 60fps than it is at 30fps, making many climbing sections harder than intended.
There are also sections with moving environmental objects which don't work entirely correctly on the PS3 remaster.

Well remember, a lot of gamers jumped off the 360 train and onto.PS4, missing out on a lot of games during the PS3 age.

They also got Wander perpetually drunk for the ps3 remaster, he cant grip for shit or balance at all making the game pretty frustrating to play.
Bluepoint are fantastic at these HD re-releases, and I think I might be willing to rebuy this game just to support them and one of my favorite games of all time. I do miss the grainy look from the original game, but as it stands, I feel like while actually playing the game, there will be a lot of reasons to like the more cleared up visuals this time around.
The original game does have some flaws, and, of course, I would love to see things polished up. However, this team has no connects to Team Ico as far as I'm aware, aside from a list of proposed changes from Ueda. I can respect the team choosing not to add to the game, or attempt to fix anything, because you can never expect how things like that might change the core experience. As it stands, the game is still a masterpiece despite its flaws.
I honestly just want the cut monkey and spider colossi. They could at the very least add in some sort of new game mode with cut content. That way the core experience is the same while providing something new to the game.

It runs at 30fps & 720p on PS3.

Yeah I'm hoping this isn't a problem in this version, it kinda ruined it for me. Don't get me wrong it was still fun, but incredibly frustrating at times.
