Am I the only person who likes the executions?
they are fucking beautiful
I quite like them, but they could be less static. Somehow...
Executions on all common enemies (so barring stuff that tends to be rare/that comes one by one) should have Doomguy physically lift the enemy up as he rips them apart so it's still possible to move around. There shouldn't be a single thing in a doom game related to combat that immobilizes you at any point.
not even key cards or colored skulls
You're not forced to stop dead in your tracks when you pick up a keycard or when you use one.

Plus it would be badass as fuck, like some kind of viking berserking warrior imo, what should be the exact definition of Doom's Rip and Tear Technology :v:
i'm looking forward to the cyberdemon honestly
you mean manus, father of the abyss? [thumb]http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130807224334/darksouls/images/8/8f/Manus.png[/thumb]

RIP OFF YOUR ARM AND BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH IT
RIP OFF YOUR ARM AND BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH IT
its depressing to think this is all gamers today need to see to think this is actually going to be not shit. doom should just be left alone. brutal doom was already awful enough and that was just a mod.
How was brutal doom awful exactly? Sure, its not 100% perfect, but the creator did a damn good job at making it feel like a new game. People wanted a new DOOM, and they got what they wanted.
the only way this game will be 10/10 for me is if this shows up when you fight your first Cyberdemon [editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
How was brutal doom awful exactly? People wanted a new DOOM, and they got what they wanted.
Basically the community got torn a new asshole because a bunch of new people flocked to Doom, said "THIS IS HOW DOOM WAS MEANT TO BE," and started pestering map makers and mod creators for if their works were compatible with Brutal Doom, among numerous other things. Brutal Doom isn't inherently bad, it's just surrounded by bullshit and overly publicized for one mod amongst many.
its depressing to think this is all gamers today need to see to think this is actually going to be not shit. doom should just be left alone. brutal doom was already awful enough and that was just a mod.
Literaly everything you said was "the only good Doom is the first one because yes" You and many others are the equivalent of all the old guys at congress who want things to never change. To become stuck in time, in a broken messed up world that makes no sense in this day and age. I mean... Fuck, theres people that would complain about the super shotgun if it wasn't THE super shotgun, and if it was just a two barrel, or something... Hell not even I know what the fuck they meant with that. This is basically the "my generation was the best, yours sucks" way of thinking. And all of this because someone made a funny comment about how the revenant ripped his arms off and beat him with them, and after watching what is obviously a teaser trailer made on a console, in a really controlled environment, in what could be called an alpha state of the game, if it even was a small demo. Add to that people who groan and complain about how it isn't a copy&paste of the old Dooms, and the end product is what's indeed depressing to see: a bunch of people stuck to the past who can't enjoy anything else.
Doom 3's theme is hilariously superior, I really hope Doom 4 has something better in store.

It sounds like they're throwing back to the original soundtrack, which is kinda nice, but it doesn't really have any personality or anything yet. We'll see what the music in the final game is like though.
The graphics are pretty good but i don't like that piss filter, why is everything so yellow? The game has gore, which is good since it's doom, but that one hit knockout melee worries me. There's also that slow-motion mode when changing weapons.
RIP OFF YOUR ARM AND BEAT YOU TO DEATH WITH IT
Funniest thing is that you rip enemies hands and unlock scanners with them instead of using keycards.

Look at the few rooms in the first part of the gameplay that were internalized away from the mill and the lighting colors change entirely. Also the 'one hit knockout' is basically finishers for enemies on the verge of death anyway, so it's not like it's overpowered or anything by technicality.
A lot of people seem to not like the finishers, but I think they're alright. They look pretty much optional first of all, and they're super quick and snappy, so I don't see myself getting tired of them easily. They're way better than brutal doom, where you spend ages punching an imp over and over again while the other enemies take the opportunity to surround you. Looks like a nice little reward for getting in close to enemies, plus you get to insta kill them and save some ammo.

Also the chainsaw being turned from a free-use weapon to a cinematic killing weapon. The latter wouldn't be so bad if it didn't hold the player in place the whole time, but honestly, besides being able to back off at your leisure, the original chainsaw might as well be the same thing since it locks you partly in place and stunlocks most (but not all) enemies.
