The Last of Us has one of the best stories in a videogame ever. I cried at the end. It's a shame that it's built on proprietary software, used to oppress people. I was hoping that a free alternative would come out from the community (like GNU did), but it appears that will never happen. I will not be getting the sequel as a protest; I find this unnacceptable. Shame on Naughty Dog and Sony. Shame on you all for playing this filth instead of promoting software freedom.
What have you been smoking.

Wish naughty dog would get out of sonys pocket for a change. Gonna have to keep passing these up.
guys I think he means that he doesn't want it to be a ps4 exclusive and would like people who like to play on PC to get to enjoy the fun I think, anyway, and I cannot really blame him. I'm kinda getting tired of exclusives, and double dipping companies like Rockstar. But, you can only blame the consumers for buying into the crap.

God dammit now I need to pick up a PS4. There's so many series continuing onto it that I had a great time with, and I never played TLOU on PS3 because it was so end of life that it was clear we'd see some kind of re-release with corrected performance.
let's fucking go! I am so fucking hyped

I refuse to believe you aren't just baiting. On topic though, I can't wait. TLoU is my favourite game other than HL2. Mostly excited for Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson to be acting together again, they have great chemistry. [editline]4th December 2016[/editline] Anyone else notice the window in the room from this trailer looks a lot like the one from the TLoU title screen?

Would've been awesome if it was the same window, knife and all.
what are you doin kiddo
oh god the way joel speaks and how the camera doesnt show his face makes me think he died
oh god the way joel speaks and how the camera doesnt show his face makes me think he died
Like a voice in her head sort of thing? That's... A good idea. Although I don't see why he would be carrying a gun
Like a voice in her head sort of thing? That's... A good idea. Although I don't see why he would be carrying a gun
It's whatever she's imagining I'd assume. She seems pretty angry at some group of people (maybe Fireflies?). The popular theory right now is that Joel died, she's imagining him being alive and she wants revenge on the people that killed him.
The popular theory right now is that Joel died, she's imagining him being alive and she wants revenge on the people that killed him.
That would be pretty stupid if you ask me. He already looks like he's aged in the trailer too. Hair is more grey, has lost weight. It has shown him walking into the house while Ellie wasn't even aware of his presence (I say that because she tones down her singing when she notices he's there). Plus Joel is too good of a character to kill off in between games. The revenge story would make more sense, and be better, if she was hunting down Fireflies for manipulating her and many others. I doubt the theory is true.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and just assume this is pre-rendred - maybe with the actual engine, but definetely not live. It's mostly the foliage that makes me skeptical. But, I could be wrong. And I'd love to be.
I'm pretty sure all of the cut scenes in the first were pre-rendered so I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing the same here
They were also prerendered in UC4 which came out this year. So not really anything new, just takes the load off the console while still having high quality cutscenes.
I'm pretty sure all of the cut scenes in the first were pre-rendered so I wouldn't be surprised if they're doing the same here
I don't think any of them were pre-rendered, just pre-recorded running on the same engine. Kinda like how Max Payne 3 did it.
I had some real Kill Bill vibes from this trailer. Haven't played the first one, but I've only heard good things.
They were also prerendered in UC4 which came out this year. The only time they weren't was during a level change, they would play a pre-rendered clip while the next area loaded so it seemed seemless. You can test this, put a random main gun on Drake's back and in his holster and he will have the same ones in the cutscene.

People are just confused cause the first 3 games on ps3 were pre-rendered but in engine, however those got real-timed for the ps4 versions. [editline]4th December 2016[/editline] interestingly enough though the last of us remastered's cutscenes were pre-rendered even being on the PS4. here's to hoping naughty dog finally gets their systems and can make them realtime.
