I missed part of the run, what was up with flavio?
he did a thing between chapter 5 and 6 i think where he went to the island and got to the part where flavio starts following you for a short time but instead of continuing with that chapter he went to the next one and from there on flavio kept on following him throughout the whole game

And also the game goes out of its ways to keep Flavio on-screen with him standing around in cutscenes that show remote villages, seas, space etc.
Is the Paper Mario run worth watching all 6 hours of?
only if you actually played the game yourself, preferably all of it
otherwise i don't think it would be very exciting, although it might be worth it for trihex
I played the whole game and its one of my favorites of all time so I guess I know what I'm doing for six hours on sunday.
Any other great runs I should watch (specifically any famous Nintendo/Mario games in particular? It's always fun to see my childhood favorites destroyed)?
Half-Life 2 and Portal should be good.
Half-Life 2 and Portal should be good.
half life 2 isnt a very good speedrun honestly. in the world record run, they timed the cutscenes and over half of the run is cutscenes. there are a few really cool looking bunny hopping sections, but aside from that there are just way too many cutscenes to keep my attention. half life 1 on the other hand is really awesome to watch.
Damn, I missed some off the good ones
Are there recordings somewhere?

this HL2 run is pretty good actually
this HL2 run is pretty good actually
don't get me wrong, the parts with gameplay are good, but there are too many cutscenes in between for my tastes
the HL2 runner is great lmfao
What is the whole save/kill the animals thing about?

I know I suck at playing games, but holy shit Portal 2 in 10 minutes
I know I suck at playing games, but holy shit Portal 2 in 10 minutes
That's portal 1, sub 10 is actually pretty common.

in OoB anyway.
Think that proves how bad I am. I am very impressed though

Don't feel bad, I've tried running portal a couple of time and the bunnyhopping or ABH, which is one of the most basic things in a portal run, is really hard.
Excellent summary of SGDQ, watch your volume. http://ribbedown.ytmnd.com/

Free avatar, anyone?
I'm not very good at cutting down filesizes though so I had to slice off the first part of the dance since it was either that or make it choppy as fuck by cutting the frame count in half.
This LttP trick looks extremely difficult, never mind people saying it's the hardest trick of this marathon.
