And the funniest part is that, by rioting, they're still paying their subscription fees and still giving money to CCP.
No most are using the time they already have left and canceling there subscriptions. [editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
Does shooting those actually do anything? I love it when stuff like this happens in EVE/MMO's, not got around to play EVE though.
It lags the server a lot. I think thats what they are trying to do.
pretty cool, but aren't the places invincible?
Again to cause lag so no one can buy anything there slowing down the economy.
pretty cool, but aren't the places invincible?
I have no idea what's going on but it looks pretty cool, with the music and lasers and space and everything
I was actually at that monument earlier today. Too bad everything from the destroyed ships had been looted. Wait, I'm confused. They're pissed about micro-transactions, so... What is this? Are they trying to DESTROY system stations??
In one of the eve online trailers I always didn't believe the part where they talked about how hundreds of thousands of people could hear about such and such battle, but maybe this though. [editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
Wait, I'm confused. They're pissed about micro-transactions, so... What is this? Are they trying to DESTROY system stations??
Yea because CCP promised they would never introduce micro-transactions. The players also fear a play to win system, as in people just being able to buy ships and skills instead of having to work hard and wait a long time to get such and such ship and skill. People are also pissed because Incarna was rushed and the carbon engine is shit ( it lags like hell for me ) and it's an unfinished product. They aren't trying to destroy it, apparently Jita is an economic hub so by doing this they create a lot of lag, they were trying to slow the game's economy down in protest.
i want to start playing this again but i cant remember my god damn username
i want to start playing this again but i cant remember my god damn username
I'm sure you can recover it by calling CCP
Is the riot still going on?
Yes
This is all a massive ploy set up to sell ammunition
Is the riot still going on?
I was actually just outside to greet a friend, and he said "Dude, why are there so many ships by your station?" I go and look and just say "Oh, that's the rioting. Wanna join in?" That was literally 5 minutes ago. Also, probably isn't a ploy to sell ammunition since most of the protestors are shooting lasers.
Jita (the sector where the statue is) is the main trading hub in the game. I haven't played in awhile but I think the amount of players in Jita right now lags it up so bad that people can't play while there. It would be like everyone running into a market and just standing there and its so crowded and packed you can't do anything or go to any of the stands to buy stuff.
This is true, I had trouble going to buy ammo for my ships yesterday, I underestimated the lag, warping and docking to Jita4-4 was easy, since it's all one command, but my FPS was ridiculously low as it was going through the process. Leaving took me ages, the amount of ships and weapon effects in one space made it really hard for me to warp out to a jump gate. My oldish computer (that runs Eve fine at 75fps normal) was brought to it's knees, and I was left wondering if I'd be able to get out at all for a while. I don't think I'll be trading in Jita for while, at least while things clear up, and if there are others like me (who play the game, and trade in Jita), then this might be having some impact. I personally don't see what the fuss is about as long as the microtransactions only buy vanity stuff, but if exclusive useful stuff is brought in, then it might break the game, since it's based around player economy normally.
Remember never piss of the nerds, it's the worst possible PR you can do on the internet.
This is all a massive ploy set up to sell ammunition
jokes on you, lasers!
Riots have ended due to aids.
