It's bullshit that Amsterdam is like the most drug infested city in the world, in fact, officialy drugs aren't even legal. It's only legal to buy them is special coffeeshops ( But growing weed is illigal, so it's a mystery where all that weed comes from ) It's just that carrying/smoking small amounts of marihuana is not enforced ( But police can always give you a ticket, this occasionally happens in border provinces ).
Portugal, another European country, however has fully legalized softdrugs like pot for personal use. They can go and shit on that country if they like, but just like the Netherlands, I bet their criminal rate is also a lot lower than the US. It's due to the international community ( Shitheads like Fox news, conservative European lawmen ) that more and more coffeeshops dissapear in holland.
