Most smart people suffer this for some reason.

From what I understand, their brains are very advanced, and they take in a lot of information at once and process it VERY quickly, but the problem is that they have to prevent themselves from taking in too much information at once, and that is why they hum, or block their ears, or flail around. A lot of autistics tend to have great memory and math skills, but are very incapable of social interaction. And girls are less likely to be autistic, but if they are it's usually worse.
And Rainman was a great movie, if you haven't seen it you should.
Did I hear fecal smearing?
Yeah, I dunno what that is about. Must be a bit of :downs: mixed in.
For science!
People, Autism doesn't make somebody dumb, in her case she's unable to talk verbally. The only reason people actually think she's not dumb is because she can communicate via computer. I know some Autistic people in real life, including my brother.
That would be some intense sex.
Yeah.
Because relationships are about sex. :downs:
Seriouslly, she seems to be a great person and if she asked me out, I'd accept in a heartbeat. Not kidding.
Ahahha, oh wow.. the way she moves.

They are. :downs:
Thanks for that, it was really uplifting for me.
Also, it's a breakthrough, as many doctors and so on will most likely try this.
Wow, now computers can really help.
I kinda don't believe it....
(Kinda, as in, there isn't very much footage of her typing the actual words out, just the footage of the words which were already typed out.)
Incredible, but not the first time it's been documented. Daniel Tammet is an autistic savant who has an extreme understanding of numbers and mathematics but without the negative :downs: effects.
*vids of amazement*
Wow this guy is amazing, I didn't even hear them mention any impairments from his abilities. Where there just some social short comings or something? Amazing.

Or dumb shits who think making fun of an autistic person makes for a good joke. Come on, think about how that makes you look to normal people.
I think it's great that she can communicate and stuff, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say she has "profound intelligence." I mean, she's not a genius underneath her disability or anything like that, just a normal person. Don't get me wrong, I really think it's amazing that she has found a way to communicate what is going on in her head, it really provides a lot of information regarding autism, but saying her intelligence is profound just doesn't seem fitting. She doesn't "speak" any more intelligently than your average person.
This. It's quite remarkable how she's managed to learn to type though.
Seriouslly, she seems to be a great person and if she asked me out, I'd accept in a heartbeat. Not kidding.
No, no you would not. Stop trying to kid yourself.
:glomp:
Thats amazing.
That's pretty amazing, I bet scientists can understand autism better because of this. I wish I could feel what it's like to have autism, just for a little while.

Very important part.
Seriouslly, she seems to be a great person and if she asked me out, I'd accept in a heartbeat. Not kidding.
You see a video of her and know about 3 things about her and you would go out with her? Usually you want to have at least an idea of who a person is before you start any relationship.
It's really upsetting when there are people out there who say they have autism when they really don't and just say they do to get away with being assholes.(Though I do know a few legitimately autistic people who cannot communicate)
I know (too)many people who abuse it. I'd hope after seeing something like this they'd stop.

Autism is a fickle disorder like that. I can't help but wonder if it's how I managed to teach myself how to read at at least at a 5th grade level when I was in pre-school.

I feel sad now because when I was in preschool I learned how to read at a third grade level.
I never knew a lot of that stuff. I knew about the very fast processing, but I never would have guessed that their thought process was completely normal, except for the compensation for the input overload. It's pretty interesting and I'd like to see how far she'll go to help people understand what goes on in the mind of someone who's autistic. It clears up a lot of questions that I've wondered before.
4chan has proven themselves as vigilantes and heroes many times in the past, as with Zach, that cat-abusing kid, etc. If this showed up on 4chan, I don't think they'd do anything bad. Eve n if some small rogue faction of 4chan tried to, the majority of 4chan would track them down and stop it.

I was at a college level by 5th grade, or so I was told. I'm not autistic though...

I don't have any type of learning disabilities, but all of the teachers I've had have sucked ass.
The world is full of extraordinary people.
You just wont find them on FacePunch.
Wow that's really heart jerking...
That was truly amazing.

Autism varies, not everyone has it to the point where you have to flail your arms about and shit. The worst I do is I listen to music to try to tune out everything else.

I know, I don't have autism. I've been seen by psychiatrists for other problems and they have never even considered autism.
yeah they want to help Zach's... this guy...

That Zach guy was hilarious. Not because of his disorder, I found his jokes genuinely funny and humorous.
