It didn't charge considerably faster - there's still a delay before it charges...and you can only use one of those at a time so I'd rather stick with the armor one. :)

Hargreave is/was a massively high up military figure with knowledge and experience with the aliens and promised assistance in defeating them, something no one else would ever think of offering him. They'd seem pretty logical to trust during a god-damn alien invasion. Have you even played the game? I was thoroughly stoned throughout the entire experience and it was clear-cut to me.
