don't pre-order it, SFV was a blowout and this doesnt look any better so I wouldn't put any trust in Capcom at this point. Character roster is pretty pathetic right now unless they haven't revealed the other release characters (but then why would you not only make the boss character dlc but announce them before the release roster?) [editline]26th April 2017[/editline] for reference mvc3 vanilla had 38 characters at launch, umvc3 added 12 more.

actual gameplay footage: looks like they literally copy pasted (like the same supers) from umvc3. Gameplay looks mostly intact but the announcer sucks and all around it just looks like a mobile port of 3.
So it's 2v2 now with no assists. On top of that, apparently some attacks are getting completely different motions (to do a shoryuken, you do Down, Down instead of the dragon punch motion). I really don't know what Capcom is doing with this game.

Down down feels nothing like a shoryuken

While the game doesn't have traditional assists, it seems to have a new system were you can actively switch characters during a combo and the Infinity Gems can also be seen as another kind of assist replacement. [editline]26th April 2017[/editline] Honestly, from the gameplay I've seen, the game does look like it plays like a Marvel game and does look kind of fun. Hopefully they change the UI and really polish the graphics because, right now, the game isn't really the prettiest thing to look at.

However the gameplay footage also does confirm that for some obscene reason, Ultron is in the game by default and Sigma isn't.
Gotta give them credit, it looks like its trying to give Marvel vs Capcom a story whereas MvC3 was just 3 modes with Arcade mode just being "Pick your team, fight random fighters, fight Galactus, unlock unique ending for each starting character, repeat." Ultron-Sigma's silly name aside, he does look cool. I ain't gonna pre-order shit though. 6 character DLC's unlocked behind preordering the game? Unless they reveal a much larger starting roster otherwise Fuck you Capcom.

So yeah, MvC is technically canon to the marvel multiverses.
I don't mind a lackluster story mode, because it's a fighting game and who the fuck buys a fighting game for the story Though I still find it hilarious how a big expansive story mode was promised during development of MVC3 and we got the exact opposite of that
I don't mind a lackluster story mode, because it's a fighting game and who the fuck buys a fighting game for the story
Many do, surprise and it's not a shitty reason in these years. Mortal Kombat, Injustice (hate it but it still provides story), Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Tekken, King of Fighters etc Having story, personality and such to the game can greatly help and for now MvCI is not really helping aside the stupid dlc, meh looking visuals and all. You want something done right.

I think we could turn this into gameplay trailers and breakdown thread, because more trailers are coming. So far the gameplay makes up for the visuals. Its not MvC3 in looks but I totally see Capcom going for the Marvel Cinematic Universe look and I think its okay. Backgrounds need work, but it IS a early build so we have until September 16th to find out if they graphics get some polish.

It's a big reason why I'm invested into the franchise.
