I'm pretty sure it's there to hammer it in for you.
Yeah I did enjoy hearing this asshole just get smashed over and over with sentences.
How do people do these things? Like seriously, what the fuck goes on in their head that drives them to go through with their actions? Rape is fucking disgusting, and repeating it? You'd think that after you realize you're a terrible person and you've done a terrible thing that destroys another person's life you'd seek help, but to repeat the crime on other people? People like this are sadistic, disgusting humans with absolutely no sense of morality. I just can't wrap my head around it.
What they should do is have him pschologically analyzed to figure out why he did what he did
Not even remotely overkill, he raped thirteen women using his authority as a police officer to get the opportunities, he deserves every second
So it's up to Judge Lemongrab to give him a million years in the dungeon? Most rapists get 20+ years normally, but 200 years is hilariously long for one person. Perhaps if he was a wizard, then it makes sense.
It's an amalgamation of sentences.

I am really not understanding this. The laws he broke have years you can give. They gave them the years they can. He had 13 charges and they added up, thats what happened. The judge wasnt just like "200 YEARS IN THE DUNGEON!" for rape.
Guess it makes sense when they add up.
I don't understand when you get a sentencing longer than you could possibly live for. Why not just say "imprisoned until death"? What're they gonna do when he dies? Put him in skeleton jail?
Its just a formal thing honestly. Its because the laws he broke have minimum-maximum years they can sentence. Also because "Life in Prison" isnt really "your entire life in prison" it just means you can only get out on parole or you stay stuck. So you can be sentenced like 40 years, be good, get on parole and get out. Or you can be sentenced 40 years, be bad, and never get on parole so you stay, which is why you sometimes here in the same sentence "25 years to life" the life part comes into play when you can actually get parole. For this guy he CANNOT get parole from the look of it. A lot of his rape charges are part of Okalahomas "85 Percent" law which states before he can even be eligible for parole he must serve 85% of the charge.
- i dont care anymore except people should do a simple google search before making assumptions -
Dude, whats wrong with me just asking a simple question? Please calm down

He raped 13 women and most rapists don't come close to that His crimes had a combined sentence of 263 years, not giving him the full stentence would be an injustice in this case
Like most rapists get 20+ years normally because they rape one or two people, not thirteen
Awful crime, but 263 years? A bit overkill don't you think? On the lighter side, here's a Florida cop saving a woman: https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1511034
iirc giant times like this are so you cannot file for parole within your lifetime.
I don't understand when you get a sentencing longer than you could possibly live for. Why not just say "imprisoned until death"? What're they gonna do when he dies? Put him in skeleton jail?
When you do a crime, you get a certain amount of years. This is just a bunch of sentences that are added up. It's not like the judge cried out "I shall sentence you for over two hundred years of imprisonment!" It's just that when all the paperwork is all said and done, the shit he's done is judged individually, and it adds up to a really long sentence. The reason prosecutors go for so many is because you can remove maybe one or two over time, but with this many he might as well not even try. [editline]18th March 2016[/editline] And the reason you can get out early with your sentence is so that if people really try, they could rebuild their lives if they aren't a clear danger to those around them. It's based off of the principle that people can change and get better. Statistically speaking, however, people tend to go immediately back to crime after being in jail. Our current prison system is a fucking mess. But this should be a talk for another thread.
263 years? Be thankful, that is nothing compared to the lady who got sentenced 141 078 years for a pyramid scheme in Thailand in 1989!
While the man is a monster and deserves every year that he was sentenced to, it is kind of surreal to hear all of the charges stacked against him one after the other with with the guilty / not guilty declaration, and the number of years.
scares me that this guy was in the county/city right next to mine. i remember watching this on my local news and hearing about it. The guy kept a straight face and seemed pretty eased during previous trials. makes me sketched now to make trips to OKC sometimes.
My friend from OKC says most people don't think the cop did anything wrong and that all the women he was accused by were drug addicts that he'd busted. I don't know if that's true, just putting it out there. Don't shoot the messenger.
It just kept going and going and going and going, yeah and after all that you start crying because only then you realize you did something that wasn't right. Serves him right. Also about the sentence of 200+ years, it is actually illegal to serve someone a lifetime imprisonment so as a solution to that they simply stack the accusations towards the point its more then 100 years which is pretty much the same.

The guy is pretty fucking scum from what I heard.
Just because you don't see something on the news doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I understand that. Just didn't hear anyone disagreeing with his punishment when talking to classmates or friends about it. i think your friend was just wrong about what he said.
iirc giant times like this are so you cannot file for parole within your lifetime.
Precisely. [editline]18th March 2016[/editline]
My friend from OKC says most people don't think the cop did anything wrong and that all the women he was accused by were drug addicts that he'd busted.
My friend from OKC says most people don't think the cop did anything wrong and that all the women he was accused by were drug addicts that he'd busted.
My friend from OKC says most people don't think the cop did anything wrong and that all the women he was accused by were drug addicts that he'd busted. I don't know if that's true, just putting it out there. Don't shoot the messenger.
a point to consider: Let's say they were all druggies that he busted. He could have targeted druggies who'd do shit with him if they thought he'd let them off the hook, but then he busted them anyways because lying about being raped by the cop happens, albeit infrequently, when you bust bottom of the barrel druggies the question at this point becomes "how would 13 random druggies know they all got busted by the same dude and come up with a conspiracy to accuse him of rape, that was apparently watertight enough to convict the dude when historically speaking cops are REALLY good at helping each other dodge accusations because they tend to have all the facts, even if kept in private"
Someone said this happened on his birthday, is that true? Holy shit that's amasing.
Honestly, I still feel kind of bad for him. He's a monster, undeniably- he deserves the sentence, absolutely but he's still a human that fucked up bad, and his reaction to the realization that he's effectively a dead man that won't amount to anything but a hated rapist... Still rough. Even though it's his fault and I know what he visited on his victims is altogether far worse. I do have a history of being overly empathetic when I shouldn't be, though. I've felt bad about pulling roots before.
What was he thinking? Why even become a cop if you're going to intentionally break the law, especially to this extreme?
He was a highschool football star. Tried for the NFL but didn't get in. Decided to become a cop instead. Sounds like he peaked in highschool and wasn't crushing puss anymore since nobody gives a shit about former highschool football players.
No point in Squalling buddy If you can't do the time don't do the crime
You need to realize hes crying because he was caught. Not because he feels bad in anyway. If he was never caught he wasnt gonna stop.
I guess you're probably right. I guess when I read about horrible atrocities like this I just think about how behind most pitiless bastards there was at one point someone who didn't plan to end up a pitiless, disgusting bastard. They're not sci-fi aliens that thrive on violence and horror, they're at the end of the day, people. Even ISIS is people. Some of them might be born messed up, some of them probably don't regret a thing deep down, but I don't think that's the majority. Maybe that's a little naive. Anyway, I don't mean to stir the pot. I wouldn't say he deserves a lighter sentence, or anything. He most assuredly doesn't.
