the first section of the video really did not look like a significant upgrade from BF3 but a lot of that has to do with the HUD being nearly identical. the china maps look great compared to the forests in BF3 [editline]20th August 2013[/editline]
Cool video and nice effects, I'm still not going to buy it though. If I do end up buying it, it will only be after they release premium, so I can get the full game for 50 bucks instead of paying for the base game and then premium later. Besides, if BF3's launch is any example of how broken a game can be upon release, I can safely assume a similar pattern will happen with the BF4 launch. This is exactly what I'm talking about. It's pointless to buy ANY AAA title at release if the Multiplayer is the central focus, because within the first year you will be able to buy the whole game instead of buying a teaser THEN buying the content for it. It'd the equivalent of paying 60 bucks for ArmA III Lite, then paying 50 bucks for ArmA III when it's release 6 months later, it's a stupid market tactic because it splits people up if they don't pay.
i completely disagree. someone needs to fund the development of those DLC packs, someone needs to actually put the money up for them. that development time isnt free. i think it is much more fun for the players to be able to get the map packs as they come up or as they want to buy them as opposed to making everyone wait until they are all done or something similar, like waiting a whole extra year for the game to finish so it will have 12-16 extra maps. if you really want to save money, thats fine, but if you want to support the developer, you're far from it. [editline]20th August 2013[/editline] obviously day 1 dlc is iffy, but only one of those packs is day one, and even then I think day one DLC can be justified.
Don't know about you guys, but I may get this game.
I'm glad you can still hear traces of the original theme in there instead of just "WAB WUB WAB WUB SCREEEEEEEE WAB WUB"

Sure for BF3 they announced premium late so feeling ripped off because of that made sense, but this time they ARE announcing BF4 with Premium before it releases.
they posted this too
urban combat? sold
Does anyone know if you can sail the battleships as you could in 1942? I'd hate if the ships crashing and the waves/weather changing were scripted with the score like that radio tower falling in that Caspian Border map.
daym gurl

It can probably be player activated, like the giant skyscraper we've seen a bunch on BF4 marketing, but not like an actual controllable boat I don't think.
In case you guys are wondering if we're going to fight in Vietnam, yes you are. [sp]Paracel Islands is technically in Vietnam.[/sp]
I wish the vehicles had basic weapons like BF2 did. Bombs, missles and MG for jets and rockets/TV-guided missles for helicopters that were all available right away was so much more enjoyable.
Were those lasers at 1:31? Pretty sure they were
At 1:06 it looks like they brought back the ability to level buildings too. Hopefully they'll have more destructibles this time.
At 1:06 it looks like they brought back the ability to level buildings too. Hopefully they'll have more destructibles this time.
buildings in BF3 could be leveled.
I skipped over BF3 but BF4 looks very enticing and seems to have a much more epic scale than BF3 did.

I mean, it all comes down to the fact that they know the majority of their fan base will spend their money on it regardless of what they do, but some, like you, will probably wait a little while. How bad does someone want the game at release after it being hyped up for so long, or would they rather just wait 6 months and save a few dollars that probably wouldn't have meant anything in the long run? Then it depends on how people are with their money, frugal or not, etc. I'm going to get it at release and maybe, maybe eventually get premium. I bought BF3 at release and then traded some old games in months later for premium. Premium was worth it for me because of the fact that I traded in some old games that I didn't play anymore, but I didn't really care for some of the maps.
omg who fucking beached the destroyer u fucking n00bs fucking godamnit
Oh god it'll be the Yamato all over again
there's a battlefield 2 vibe to the video (reminds me of operation clean sweep specifically) but shit the wave/boat warfare thing looks really cool can't wait until burgerpaul launch a destroyer into the air with a stack of C4 or something
Operation Clean Sweep is my favorite battlefield map ever. They really need to create an island map like that again.
buildings in BF3 could be leveled.
Made for some very embarrassing teamkills when I tried to back up my tank into a half-ruined office building, thinking it'd be good protection. Those poor scouts on the roof never knew what hit them.
The China Rising pack is giving me some serious Vietnam vibes.
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES [editline]21st August 2013[/editline]
Operation Clean Sweep is my favorite battlefield map ever. So glad they are promoting the multiplayer way more than the single Even they know its fucking trash nobody will play
i love the smell of split community and of trying to justify map packs as "expansion packs" because they add two vehicles and a few unbalanced weapons that's what their publisher does, DICE doesn't crowdsource their games
but the publisher would just stop funding the studio if no one bought them... It's the same thing.
Best thing about vehicular combat on water is that there's less chance of 'jumping off the vehicle and survive' stuff like in tank or jet combat
i told myself i wouldn't buy battlefield 4 god dammit
Best thing about vehicular combat on water is that there's less chance of 'jumping off the vehicle and survive' stuff like in tank or jet combat
Wouldn't there be MORE chance? [editline]21st August 2013[/editline] Well I guess you would be a sitting duck
yeah anyone in water in bf gets picked off pretty quick
I'd imagine that it's pretty hard to kill people in those water condition though.
I thought it would be fun to take my squad and swim all the way to land in Wake Island 2007 from the carrier [sp]We died before we were even close to the shore :([/sp]
I'd imagine that it's pretty hard to kill people in those water condition though.
maybe it will be with the waves in bf4 but i wouldnt hold my breath
I've never been interested in Battlefield. But this makes me want to buy the game.
I don't understand how they keep fucking up the theme, they pretty much perfected it 9 years ago. Who thought WUB WUB WUB would be great, uughh.
