THERE SURE IS A LOT OF WALTER GOING ON IN THAT VIDEO. And the most mind fucking part about all this is that guy sounding like walter jr from breaking bad.
It all makes sense now.
This is awesome research right here boys and girls, I am not being sarcastic. I probably would've killed myself in an attempt to see how you actually get the crowbar. The person in this video is awesome.
Walter could have found Gordon's original crowbar.
Gman takes away Gordon's crowbar though :hurr:

His VERY first one. :hurr:
His VERY first one. :hurr:
But even then Barney knowingly took Walter's crowbar knowing it belonged to Walter at the time, no?
There could be a connection between G-man and Walter.
The connection being Gordon's crowbar.

I thought there was 2. The first one gordon finds, and then the one after he is nearly killed in the compactor thing.

There is, he didn't realize it and called someone retarded although he was the retard.

You dodged my point, even if Walter took Gordon's first crowbar, Barney has no knowlege of where that crowbar came from; as for the first and second crowbar, you point out a valid fact that the two are most likely different crowbars
Is that retarded enough for you? :downs:
[Editline]fun[/editline]
I'd actually rather see Barney say what Panda X said for novelty reasons

Considering Barney and Walter were in the same car, Barney could have asked him where he got it from. Walter could have said near the compactor room and because Barney saw Gordon being caried away and knew he had a crowbar, assumes it was his.
My mental image shows a rather comical situation in which Barney randomly asks about the crowbar while a nuke goes off in the background
But yeah, that's possible; Barney also says he "thinks" Gordon left his crowbar over at Black Mesa
Seems like an awful long story just about Gordon's crowbar though; not to mention an odd weapon of choice to keep for a long period of time :raise:

Crowbars can open doors and bash heads in. What's not to love about it? Plus it's really durable!

Of course it is; it just that all these facts make it sound like Barney has some kind of crowbar fetish since the crowbar isn't probably the easiest weapon to conceal in a combine dictatorship where they check for opposition, nor is it the first thing that you probably think about off the top of your head when there's 2x4s and metal pipes laying around; not to mention that he had that crowbar accounted for even when the 7 hour war started or when they even moved to Eastern Europe (City 17)
Maybe he knew Gordon would return and need it one day to conveniently destroy those wooden planks? :tinfoil:
OR it was just a crowbar that happened to look the same.

Gordon manages to conceal it. This must be an alternate universe where crowbars can be concealed magically.
OR it was just a crowbar that happened to look the same.
He says he thinks he dropped it back in black mesa. He could mean Gordon lost it in black mesa so gives him a replacement - he doesn't mean it's the same one.
I just had a ridiculous thought - Is there any scene in which Barney AND G-man are both in the same area? I am trying to think back, but i'm not playing through all of half life/half life 2 again just to see. Is there a possibility that G-man IS Barney, hence where he got the crowbar from, and why he says "I think you dropped this in black mesa?"
ACTUALLY The weapon thing in the citadel destroys Walter's crowbar. Any crowbar after that is insignificant since it's post-Citadel blown up so pretty sure crowbars get pretty common with City 17 getting blown up and all.
Umm, the Crowbar got put in the statis by G-Man. Did you even play HL2?
OR it was just a crowbar that happened to look the same.
There's an obvious shortage of crowbars in City 17! Here's how I know.
1. You don't see any crowbars layin down. Nothin.
2. Civil Protection probably did confiscate them and Barney was in good tastes of CP so he could get away with it. Maybe he said he used it to beat people with? I don't know.
3. That one rebel was using a pipe to beat down manhacks cause he can't find a crowbar which he obviously would use if he could find one
Umm, the Crowbar got put in the statis by G-Man. Did you even play HL2?
Actually you get put into stasis in HL2 when you only have the upgraded gravity gun. Your crowbar gets destroyed when you go through the weapon stripper, which is what also upgrades the gravity gun. You don't even have a crowbar when HL2 ends.

Don't ruin the joke!
Too late, it's broken

The hell?
are you even a nahob or are you just a rapscallion
are you even a nahob or are you just a rapscallion
What does that even mean?
When Barney gives you one of the crowbars he says something like "I'm running out of these things". Joke or CONSPIRACY
When Barney gives you one of the crowbars he says something like "I'm running out of these things". Joke or CONSPIRACY
He's lying
Yeah I thought that was pretty cool, explains a lot, but what about Episode 2? And 1? If I'm right, Barney gives you another in Episode 1. Okay. But Episode 2? I forget.
Good old Walter.
I still don't know why that security guard in Half-Life 1 (the one that gets cut in a half by lasers) has a crowbar.
