The side effects will be the same. The risks will be the same if not more. For most transpeople I know the decision to transition is often one of life or death.

And I'm not being hateful towards transgender people. I just don't agree that I should play along with this fad of not conforming to your gender because it's the hip thing to do. To simplify it, like Kyle said, gender nonconforming and being transgender are two totally separate things.

Gender noncomformity is fundamentally different because rather then having an identity incongruous with their sex they simply don't conform to society's expectations in regards to gender. They are two entirely different concepts.

There's a huge difference between people who don't feel like they're men or women, but don't want to physically transition into being the opposite gender, and people who just don't conform to gender expectations.
