What the fuck, that caught me off guard.
I WARNED YOU ABOUT THE BLOOD, BRO I TOLD YOU DOG
It's scary how fast they take their own life, not even able for anyone to stop them.
My favorite thing about the Budd Dwyer video is how caring and sincere he was to the very end. He didn't care that he was about to commit suicide, he's looking out for people by saying "No! Don't come closer, this could hurt someone!"
Another mirror. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xty2nv_car-chase-suicide-aired-on-fox-news_shortfilms
Didn't take too long for the video to be uploaded. Saw this live at work with the rest of my shop on break.
It's scary how fast they take their own life, not even able for anyone to stop them.
I think that's the point... to do it before they have second thoughts/anyone can stop them.
Surprised that I haven't seen a "hurr durr fox news" post in this thread yet. Must be really traumatizing to witness someone kill them self live.
yeah but the idiot obviously was planning on killing himself in front of people otherwise he wouldn't have brought the gun in an envelope along with a suicide note and an organ doner card he pretty much called the press conference so he could give everyone nightmares
He killed himself there to get as much publicity as possible. If he killed himself on camera in public, it'd generate so much more talk than if he just did it at home. He was about to read this when he pulled out the gun, but he didn't get a chance to talk because people were freaking the fuck out. His intentions weren't to scar people, but to "spread the truth" " I am going to die in office in an effort to ...see if the shame[-ful] facts, spread out in all their shame, will not burn through our civic shamelessness and set fire to American pride. Please tell my story on every radio and television station and in every newspaper and magazine in the U.S. Please leave immediately if you have a weak stomach or mind since I don't want to cause physical or mental distress. Joanne, Rob, DeeDee - I love you! Thank you for making my life so happy. Good bye to you all on the count of 3. Please make sure that the sacrifice of my life is not in vain." He also couldn't do it later: "Since Dwyer died in office, his widow Joanne was able to collect full survivor benefits, totaling over $1.28 million. A spokesman for Dwyer suggested that he may have committed suicide to preserve the state-provided pension for his family, whose finances had been ruined by legal defense costs"

I don't remember seeing the whole getoffit getoffit thing on the actual broadcast, it cut to commercial after the guy flops over.
Fox what the fuck is wrong with you?
This is why it's fucking dumb to air live car chases and shit
This is why it's fucking dumb to air live car chases and shit
How does this make it dumb? The incident happened because there was a mistake in the 5 second delay (there was zero delay). Normally this would not happen because the broadcasters would see it before it aired and cut it off immediately.

There's maybe a handful amount of live suicides, and most of them were not aired but the unedited film was released for special purposes. Oops, that was suppose to be a merge. I find them useful in case they're in my town and I'm not able to chase the whole fucking thing around town. Some people actually find these things interesting, or maybe it's a relative or someone they knew. That's just how it works. When something abnormal is going on or may present threat, it's good to broadcast it so you can avoid it and/or see where it goes. Take sports broadcasting for example. It's a less violent case of crime broadcasting. You're watching this sport and all of a sudden someone gets knocked out or a bone broken or even a heart attack. It's not like that's expected; it just happens. Do they stop broadcasting everything because that happened? No, because people are interested in sports.

They would, but they wouldn't stop broadcasting sports in all because of an incident here and there. Same applies with car chases and live crimes.
They would, but they wouldn't stop broadcasting sports in all because of an incident here and there. Same applies with car chases and live crimes.
except crimes shouldn't be broadcast live in the first place they're not sports they're crimes
What the fuck, that caught me off guard.
"He takes the gun out at :35 (WARNING VERY GRAPHIC, SIGNIFICANTLY MORE GRAPHIC THAN THE OP VIDEO)" I'm not sure how with a warning like that.
Fuck man I've seen that Bud Dwyer video before, but the blood waterfall always makes me feel bad.
My dad told me a story about when he was in his 20s (62 now) that this newscaster lady who was having severe depression issues, up and decided to off herself on air. He said she cam out saying some along the lines of: [del]"And now for today's gruesome fucked up news..."[/del] wiki pasta quote: "In keeping with Channel 40's policy of bringing you the latest in blood and guts, and in living color, you are going to see another first—attempted suicide." whipped out the gun and blew her head open all before they had the chance to shut the cameras off. Can't find the video though
"He takes the gun out at :35 (WARNING VERY GRAPHIC, SIGNIFICANTLY MORE GRAPHIC THAN THE OP VIDEO)" I'm not sure how with a warning like that.
I fucked up and forgot to include a little warning, I edited it after posting, he saw it before I edited it.
except crimes shouldn't be broadcast live in the first place they're not sports they're crimes
You're proposing the idea to take away something some people find interesting. If we hadn't recorded that bank job shoot out our only recollection would be a piece of text and what someone told us. I find it necessary.
